Tripp Lite's award-winning SRCOOL12K, now in its second generation, is a portable, compact, self-contained air conditioning unit designed for server rooms, small network closets, back offices and other areas with heat-sensitive equipment that facility air conditioning can't reach. Design improvements based on customer feedback include upgraded commercial-grade components designed to last longer, including an upgraded hot air exhaust fan. The SRCOOL12K Gen 2 also boasts robust packaging for better protection from shipping damage and an updated two-year warranty.

This SmartRack server rack cooling unit pumps 12,000 BTU (3.5kW) of cooling into your IT environment to help prevent shutdowns, malfunctions and other failures caused by overheating or fluctuating temperatures. It uses environmentally friendly R410A refrigerant to comply with worldwide standards. An easy-to-read control panel with diagnostic LEDs provides convenient local management.

Close-coupled cooling delivers cold air near heat loads to discourage recirculation and increase energy efficiency. An included 71-inch flexible hose lets you aim the cold air to a specific spot, such as an overheated rack enclosure or an equipment hot spot. Hot air exits through a window or drop ceiling via an included exhaust kit. An upgraded hot air exhaust fan maintains effectiveness even under a high heat load. The unit also dehumidifies and filters the air, providing better air quality that can enhance operating conditions and equipment reliability.

With a 100-percent duty cycle, the SRCOOL12K can run continuously without costly downtime. It uses copper tubing that is stronger than the aluminum tubing used in most consumer cooling units. The copper allows higher pressures and better weld joints to stand up to the constant vibration of the running compressor.

The evaporator expels the condensed water through the directional exhaust duct, eliminating the need for a drain tube, drain pan or water collection tank and saving you time and money. No external condenser, refrigerant piping or professional maintenance is required for simple operation. Upgraded firmware allows the compressor to cycle on and off while the evaporator fan stays on to prevent icing in high-humidity environments.

Install the optional SRCOOLNETLX network module (sold separately) to monitor temperatures, receive alerts, review logs and control settings from anywhere, anytime, via SNMP, web browser, SSH, telnet or command line interface. The built-in LX Platform's PowerAlert Device Manager provides a single interface to cycle the connected air conditioner on and off, adjust its fan speed, change its target set point temperature and switch to dehumidification mode.

The self-contained SRCOOL12K requires no disruptive construction projects or costly service calls from plumbers or HVAC specialists. It rolls on four casters into a compact 12 x 20 inch area. The six-foot power cord's NEMA 5-15P plug with leakage current protection connects to a standard AC outlet. The unit is programmed to restart automatically after power failures, and a built-in timer allows unattended shutdown and startup. An upgraded motor-start capacitor with a larger capacity ensures a dependable startup.

The SRCOOL12K is backed by a robust 2-year warranty, ensuring reliability and performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small business awsomesauseWe wish we purchased this sooner.... We invested a lot of time and effort on modifying our HVAC to draw air from our server closet. This unit works very well and helps heat the office in the winter and we have the exhaust discharged outside for the summer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy so far!We use it in a 7x7 enclosed room with 5 servers in it. There is also a pc, battery backup, and a switchboard in the room. It was easy to install. The included vent kit goes neatly up into the drop ceiling without issue. It has been running like a champ since it was installed. Have had running about 9 months so longevity is to be determined. Very pleased with the product so far. Easily keeps the room at our set point of 76F; even through the hot summer when the room was extra hot. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent cooling for a great priceMy server room is low on space, and full of equipment. Having our building install dedicated cooling was well outside of the budget. After lots of searching, I settled on the SRCOOL12K - I liked the capacity it claimed, but the biggest draw was that I wouldn't need to worry about drainage. Installation was simple, and in no time it was working just as expected. I'm now running two full-time since we've added more servers than a single unit can handle. Both have been running 24/7 for over 18 months without a problem. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes a huge difference in temperature & humidity!I share my office with the servers -- the space constraints of a small Library are handled this way -- so it stays pretty warm & humid. Located in a building built in 1937, insulation was never considered and IT needs are an afterthought, so this A/C unit fits the bill perfectly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent spot coolerSet this up in a small IT closet. Does a fantastic job cooling, much better than any "consumer" grade unit would do. Easy to set up and very reliable. Moves a lot of air and provides a lot of cooling. Would certainly buy this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good. Very powerfulIt may be too early to write this review, because its important to see how durable and how long this nice unit lasts. Its very easy to set up, it has a small footprint for a 1 ton unit, and it really does blow out powerful, cold air. So, thus far, i love it. It is supposed to be able to run 24x7 inside computer server rooms all day and night. I dont run it at night at all for my purposes, as im using it to just cool a peice of equipment only during the day, as we shut the equipment off all night. So, im expecting for this unit to last a long time, and it should be well built. I love that it doesnt need a water tray to be emptied, or drainage system to get rid of the condensation and evaporation. It is a self contained unit. Thats great. Its a quality looking machine, so i feel comfortable putting it anywhere. Ive read almost all the reviews on this portable AC, from different sites, and it mainly got good reviews. However, the one major complaint was that when it was run 24x7, 365 days per year, it dies after about 10 months. AC compressors and units arent designed to run all day and night. So, i hope it last a long time, and is built strong enough to last several years. In the small amount of negative reviews that i read, the company was great to deal with, and if it died within the one year warranty, they had no problem sending the customer a brand new unit. I have many other portable ac units that i use for several of my businesses that run hot equipment all day. And, in the first month, this AC seems to be the most powerful cold air portable AC that i have, compared to my other units. I have some other 1 ton, 3/4 ton, and 1/2 ton units, and the blower seems to be more powerful than my others, and the digital buttons are very easy to use. So far after a month of rigorous use, it seems to be a well built, great unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect solution for our cooling needsUpgraded to the SRCOOL from a window air conditioner. Not only is it cooling better but it circulates the air better eliminating hot spots that would occasionally trigger our temperature sensors. And when the one we bought decided to turn itself off, the TRIPP-LITE sent us a replacement. Couldn't be happier with the device and the company.
