Rated 5 out of 5 by from ordering and bluetooth issues.First, I wanted to corded version, which I had but got stolen before, and which is cheaper, but this one said ships in 5-7 days and the other was several weeks. 3 weeks later I finally received the product (so could have picked the corded version I wanted). The keys are nice and I like the track point and ergonomics just like the corded version, but the bluetooth cuts out frequently and either stops typing or gets stuck typing a single a letter over and over for several seconds. Plugging it in doesn't seem to make it more reliable. Definitely a problematic transaction and not worth the cost and extra hassle of ordering through Lenovo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too different from the laptop keyboardsI bought this because I liked my built-in Lenevo ThinkPad keyboard, however, this model is made out of a different, cheaper feeling plastic and doesn't have the same luxurious soft key feel as the built-in laptop keyboards. Also, my biggest problem with this keyboard is there is a large speed bump in front of the keys (not present on the laptop version) which inhibits my thumb when pressing the space bar and slows down my typing speed considerably. I don't like that the keys are surrounded by a "picture frame." I was disappointed with my purchase and no longer use the keyboard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great keyboard but needs better materialsSo far it is a great keyboard with nice key feedback, also hooks up instantly everytime with quick response while typing and using the center finger nub. The only thing that’s keeping me from giving 5 stars is that it feels a little cheaply made compared to what I paid for it, the bottom right foot peg broke off easily after just using the keyboard for 3 days, but other than that it is a decent keyboard

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great productI love the keyboard on my x1 extreme and decided to check the trackpoint II for my desktop. Its great! The trackpoint definitely has a learning curve, but after some practice ive now disabled the track pad on my laptop and can be efficient with just the trackpoint keyboard on my desktop. The build quality is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good keyboard when you can't work on your ThinkPadBought this so I could have ThinkPad+Trackpoint experience while working at my desk with external monitor (rather than directly on my ThinkPad). It's a pretty close duplicate of the ThinkPad keyboard experience. My only complaint is that the pointing stick seems a little harder to control precisely on the TrackPoint Keyboard II than it does on the keyboards of either of my ThinkPads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I hoped forVery solid feel overall. The heft and desk grip really improve the touch on the keys and trackpoint. I previously had a fairly disappointing ibm ultranav keyboard and this is a whole different animal. Usb-c charging port is a nice surprise. I'm considering buying a backup in case they discontinue it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, but still Missing Key FeatureLenovo keyboards are top notch, and I like this one even better than my 1st gen wired one. I wanted a wireless version (not bluetooth) and this one gives me both options. However, Lenovo continues to charge a very high price for a keyboard whose only selling point is that it's a thinkpad syle keyboard. What will make this more worthy of the price is BACKLIGHTING! PLEASE make the gen III version backlit. Then it will be perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great thinkpad feel!Overall, a great bluetooth keyboard that I use to share between my windows laptop and my chromeos Pixel Slate. Keyboard feel is great -- that familiar thinkpad feel which I love. I even prefer this over the mechanical keyboard I have.Things I don't like. - can't easily switch between bluetooth devices. Instead I use the dongle on the PC and bluetooth on my chrome device. - wish it had some level of backlight - The corners are a bit too bendy/flexibleThe drawbacks/cons are only minor, I still recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect for now.I spent quite a few hours doing my research before purchasing this keyboard. Not to mention countless, sleepless nights hoping that the retail price will drop from its original price (fortunately, it did which was one of the catalysts to proceed with my purchase). So here’s what I think of this product.During my preliminary research, I had read that many people complained about the position of the Fn and Ctrl keys, which I didn’t quite understand. Then on my first day, as I was typing (whilst highlighting by using Ctrl + arrow keys), it dawned upon me that said keys should have been reversely positioned. It’s been about a month since my purchase and I am slowly getting accustomed to the “reversed” key positions. Now I sympathise with other reviewers. One of my initial reluctance (actually more like hesitation or discouragement) to purchase this keyboard was due to its lack of back-lit keyboard function. Frankly, I still wish Lenovo had made it with the back-lit function. Granted that the battery life is approximately 2 months based on a single charge, which is quite impressive. FYI, my keyboard is still going strong. But personally I would rather have the back-lit keyboard function with a shorter battery life (say 1 month which is more than sufficient - at least for me).The set-up was incredibly easy & self-explanatory. So far (after approximately a month of continuous usage of 12 hrs/day), I have yet to lose connection via the dongle connection. Plus I do like the fact that the keyboard has a built-in dongle slot which is rather clever & convenient. But the packaging was shockingly slight (yet tight). When I saw the original package, frankly I was surprised that it actually made the trip from Hong Kong in one piece. There’s no protector, foam, bubble…etc. It’s just densely packaged in a thin cardboard box. The important thing is that it arrived safely and surprisingly quickly. I am not sure how to travel with this keyboard though since I have yet to find the carrying case/pouch for this keyboard. I reckon I will have to use bubble wraps for now.Over all, I would strongly recommend this keyboard to anybody who is looking for a compact keyboard. One of the reasons that this keyboard drew my attention was its compactness. I prefer typing whilst the centre of my keyboard is aligned with the centre of my monitor. With a conventional keyboard, I would have to move the keyboard to the right side slightly in order to position the centre of the keyboard (where the G and H keys are located) aligned to the centre of the monitor (since the right side of the keyboard side usually has the built-in numeric keypad). And this repositioning will further move the mouse away from the centre. Perhaps others don’t mind this but I am a bit eccentric when it comes to positioning my hands when typing & using the mouse. Since I can use both the built-in track point and an additional mouse (which I am doing), I am quite pleased with this keyboard. I would say it’s the best purchase I have made in a long time.My only recommendation would be for the next model, the built-in tilt adjustable stand should be somewhat longer (additional 0.5cm would perfect). But I do like the rubberised ends. Clever engineering on that part.Lastly, Lenovo’s offering of an additional discount for seniors via ID.me (I initially applied for it as a joke then I realised I am THAT old) was a plus for me. I can’t wait for the version III. Hopefully it will have the back-lit feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hardware build, fatal software flaws.Nice size and feel. Couple issues:The Fn and Ctrl key can't be swapped, unlike on Thinkpad laptops. So if you're used to having them swapped, you'll have a hard time adjusting. For now, I'm trying to get used to using the right Ctrl instead. The FnLock light isn't persistent. It turns off after a while, likely to save battery. But it means you can't know ahead of time if the F key you're hitting will do the normal or the "enhanced" function.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for a MacBookAwesome keyboard. I'm using it with a MacBook Pro through the non-bluetooth mode, with the receiver plugged into a USB-c hub, and a nice program Karabiner to map the alt/option keys to be more mac-like.There was essentially 0 setup required on the computer, and it always works. No more of the Bluetooth connection hassles I've had in the past.Clean desktop and no mouse jangling around!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bluetooth Keyboard on the Market...Finally!I initially saw the announcement on Engadget before this launched. Having recently purchased the Galaxy Tab S7+ 5G, purchased a ruggedized case for it, the only thing I needed was an awesome keyboard. I love love love Thinkpad keyboards. From the spacing between the keys, cupped surface and key travel, there is NO better keyboard out there. With my 12.4 Inch 5G enabled tablet and this keyboard, my business is now fully mobile. I can estimate projects, draw legal contracts, save them as a pdf and then use the stylus to have clients sign them in the field all thanks to this bundled and enabled by a bluetooth keyboard I can easily type 75+ words per minute. The Logitech bluetooth keyboards are very good, this is the "Mercedes" of keyboards in terms of quality, function and ease of use. I lost the red nub for the trackpoint within a week, so for $6 I bought a small package and I keep them handy so in the real world when I'm working with the keyboard, pulling it in and out of my computer bag I've got extras, buy them at the same time so your prepared. This is by far, the best bluetooth keyboard out there, HIGHLY reccomend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from True Thinkpad keyboardTrue to form, an identical keyboard to the great thinkpad.but one flaw...no way to swap fn and ctrl as you can on the thinkpad.Makes it nearly unusable as a primary keyboard.Lenovo developers, please...quickly...a firmware update or add to control center to allow fn and ctrl swap. its vital to success.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not have Fn/Ctrl key swap.Lacks the fn/Ctrl swap option of the actual laptop keyboard. Very disappointed that ThibkpPad hasn’t added this yet. If you’re going to market it as the same keyboard from the laptop, it shouldn’t be missing such a marquee feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best keyboard for the money with 2 consTop notch keyboard with trackpoint. Typing experience is second to none. There are two things that would make this better. There is no backlight for the keys. Most of these are used for home theater pc so having backlight is useful in the dark. I would recommend a sliding switch on the side for turning it on and off, similar to the on/off switch. 2nd is that the 3 mouse buttons don't have enough texture between them that I have a hard time trying to switch between left clicking and middle for scrolling. I ended up clicking the wrong button too many time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a generic Bluetooth keyboard and mouse device. This was almost the perfect, wireless keyboard ... but it's just meh. I was excited to receive it expecting that it would be a wireless keyboard with pointing stick but it does not work as a generic Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. While I paired it with my system and connected it does not deliver generic keyboard and mouse events. It *does* work, however, as a generic keyboard and mouse when the USB receiver is utilized - but then it only works with systems that have a USB type A connector - which many portable devices lack.Mechanically it has the feel of the current Lenovo laptop keyboards - which is reasonable and what I expected. It lacks the collection of media hotkeys that previous Lenovo keyboards had (why does Lenovo take previous, good designs and make them worse?.So much for a nice Bluetooth device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect portable coding keyboardThis is a great portable keyboard for coding! It's lighter than I expected, has a ton of connectivity options (USB, Wireless USB Receiver, and Bluetooth, and charges over USB C. The keys are shaped nicely and feel great to press down. The lack of a traditional trackpad makes it smaller than your normal keyboard that also has mouse controls, and the nub works well (if you know what you're doing). Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from still a solid keyboard, with minor annoyancesI also have the previous version external keyboard (bluetooth only) from maybe four years ago (and I've had a ton of thinkpads over the years). The lower profile keys on this version are not great (seems like they get lower and lower profile with every kbd revision), but the keys didn't change that much compared to the trackpoint click buttons, which are way too low profile and have too way little travel, especially the middle click. If it were just about the feel of the keyboard, these issues would make it a bit worse that the BT version, but the connectivity (bluetooth and 2.4ghz dongle) is great for my use case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nearly the perfect compact keyboardFantastic keyboard with excellent connectivity and battery life. The key travel and typing experience are both excellent. You can use the wireless dongle, Bluetooth or even wired mode. Works perfectly on all OSes. The trackpoint also works very well. The page up and down keys are different from the arrow keys and this makes them much easier to use. However, media keys would have been an excellent addition and backlighting would have made this a near perfect compact keyboard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best wireless keyboard yet!The TrackPoint Keyboard II is the best wireless keyboard on the market. Here's why I think so. 1. The battery life is awesome -- at 2 months of battery life, you can use this keyboard for more than twice as long as the previous generation TrackPoint Keyboard without recharging it. 2. This is one of very few keyboards on the market that have a TrackPoint at all, and other wireless keyboards that have a TrackPoint are almost nonexistent. If you understand why TrackPoints are so great, this is an obvious killer feature. 3. The keyboard is very small, while still being large enough to type at full speed. This frees up desk space for other stuff. The small size of the keyboard is a big reason why I prefer it over other keyboards. 4. The included wireless USB receiver makes it easy to operate this keyboard on a system without a Bluetooth adapter, or with a buggy Bluetooth adapter. Having the flexibility of using either the USB receiver or the Bluetooth protocol is fantastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One big step forward; many small steps backwardI was initially excited about the Thinkpad Trackpoint Keyboard II because I used its predecessor (the ThinkPad Compact Bluetooth Keyboard with TrackPoint) for ~4 years and still continue to do so.The major upgrade to this keyboard over its predecessor is that it has both Bluetooth (technically Bluetooth Low Energy [BLE]) connectivity and a 2.4GHz USB-A driven connection. This is good because the range/latency of the 2.4G connection is significantly superior to that of Bluetooth. Its predecessor could not be used for couch-gaming or work without loss of keystrokes; this keyboard can.A minor upgrade is that the F1-F12 keys are now grouped in three sets of four keys. However, there are many small downsides to this version:1. The FnLock function is reversed. In its predecessor, FnLock OFF meant that the F1-F12 keys performed the usual application/OS-specific functions, whereas FnLock ON meant that keystrokes would adjust volume/brightness/etc. In this keyboard, it's the reverse. This is annoying because the FnLock button now has a LED light as well. So, if one needs to refresh a page (F5) or rename a file (F2), one needs to have FnLock and its light on, thereby draining battery life faster.2. The TrackPoint buttons are all completely horizontal and at the same elevation, so it's hard to know which one would be pressed without actually looking down. This keyboard's predecessor had pronounced differences in elevation between the left, middle, and right buttons. The middle button's bumps that were significant on this keyboard's predecessor are barely tactile, further compounding the issue.3. The TrackPoint buttons have a very superficial depth compared to its predecessor. This makes them feel atrocious when depressing them, given the lack of tactile feedback.4. The edges around the Left Ctrl, Escape, and Delete keys are more pronounced. This makes this keyboard feel less sleek compared to its predecessor.5. The PgUp/PgDn keys are smaller and further separated from the left/right arrow keys as compared to its predecessor.6. This keyboard weighs ~100 grams more than its predecessor. That's around 25% more. Hopefully the increased weight is accounted for with a bigger battery.Overall, based on the differences between this keyboard and its predecessor, I would hazard to say that this keyboard is not a very good choice for an IT professional in an office environment. However, it is perfect for a home theater PC (HTPC) setup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely love it!I absolutely love the trackpoint and the feel of the thinkpad keyboard! This gives you it to you on any device that supports a keyboard and mouse! Whether it's via bluetooth or the included dongle, you can connect and have a great keyboard! If you used the previous wired and bluetooth versions, this basically combines them, adds some improvements, and gives you a USB C port. One charger/cable to rule them all! The bluetooth works great and the wireless dongle basically gives you wired without the wire.I can only think of two improvements that could be done.1. Blacklit functionality with the fn+space like my thinkpad laptop! I will be more than happy to have less battery life, especially with the usb c port for charging if it was backlit!2. Would be nice if it could function over the usb c port though with the dongle being included, it's not that important...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic...with some annoying exceptionsI'm not going to repeat all the nice things others have said, as I entirely agree. And I would love to give this a 5/5, I really do. I've used both the USB- and Bluetooth- only models before and I was super excited about this one.My gripe is about the trackpoint, specifically on Linux: it doesn't work the same as in the previous models. Horizontal scrolling does not work at all; and vertical scrolling works, but with the bizarre side-effect of a middle-button click. E.g., if your cursor happens to be on a link when you start scrolling, it will open the link in another tab; or if it's in a text box, it will paste text into it before scrolling away. So good luck scrolling on something like Google Docs...Again, the previous models worked perfectly, which makes it all the more irritating that this one doesn't. Overall, I'd still buy this keyboard knowing this, but this is just not the 5/5 product it could've very easily been.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works with Mac ...Sort of.First, let me say that nowhere in the specs of this product does it say it works with Mac. Period. It’s Windows and Android. There are no Mac drivers. It was never designed to work with Macs or iPads. But I bit the bullet and having now tested it on both MacBook Pro (Catalina 10.15.4 and the 2020 iPad Pro, I can tell you that the TrackPoint Keyboard II (KC-1957) “sort of” works with both MacOS and iOS.DISCLAIMER: Have been using it for 24 hours. Will try to update after a week or so.If you’re a Mac user, here’s what you need to know before you decide to buy this:PROs:- I have the 2020 Apple Magic Keyboard Pro keyboard/case combo. The keys on this feel at least as satisfying as that or possibly better.- It is significantly lighter in weight than the 2020 Apple Magic Keyboard Pro keyboard/case combo- The classic red dot mouse on the keyboard does work on the iPad and MacOS for moving the cursor around- It’s $99 vs $349, so theoretically you could buy this plus a Zugu case for $69 and you’d still only be at $168 all in with a pretty decent setup- On the underside it has front extendable legs that provide for a bit of tilt/angled elevation, which is nice- The claimed battery life on a single charge is 2 months- It can be used - albeit partially (see Cons below) - with both the iPad and the MacOS, whilst the Magic Keyboard Pro can only be used with ipad.- I was able to connect to the 2020 iPad Pro via Bluetooth- I was able to connect to the 2018 MacBook Pro running Catalina using the included 2.6 GHz usb dongleCONs:- Bluetooth connecting to MacOS seems to not work. I’ll play with it a bit more to see, but am currently using the little nub USB dongle included with the keyboard, plugged into a USB-A port on a dock that plugs into a USB-C spot on the MacBook Pro. It’s certainly not as ideal or as smooth as say the Apple Bluetooth keyboard that one would normally use with the MBP driving an external monitor.- Not all of the keys will work and you are going to need to be happy with that if you want to buy it. Most do, with the exception of the Windows-specific ones. Just don’t buy this expecting all of the keys to function on an iPad or MacOS.- The only driver for this is Windows, so it’s not an issue of just installing the driver. You need to be comfortable that this thing was just not built for iOS or MacOS; BUT, the keys that 99% of folks will need for typing and writing do work: All letters, ALL CAPS, Backspace and Delete key, all the important symbols above the numbers work (~!@#$%^&*()_+). Arrow up/down, right/left work. PgUp, PgDn work in a browser for jumping up and down long pages.- CTRL+C, CTRL+X, CTRL+V do appear to function on iOS or MacOS but not with the CTRL key, with the Windows key to the right of it. It’s less of an issue on the iPad and iOS since you can use your finger.Hope this helps some MacOS and iPad users who are considering this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid keyboard. Good feel. Double connections. As always, Lenovo trackpoint keyboard provides one of the best typing experiences of any keyboard. The features that make it stand out for me is the sturdy build quality. It is very comfortable to type for long periods. Key travel is familiar thinkpad. The trackpoint makes it feel just like my old Thinkpad. Nice to have an option to use it and a mouse. You can connect it to two computers by connecting one using the provided RF receiver and one connection via bluetooth. You can switch between the two by sliding a switch on the back of the keyboard. That would be one thing I would change about the button layout. Would have been better to assign a hot key to switch computers. Reaching behind the back edge of the keyboard blindly is a bit awkward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good but not as good as the previous generationIt's still a great keyboard if you like to keep your fingers on the home row (like I do.)In this review, I'm comparing it to the previous generation of this product.Upsides:This generation comes with a bluetooth USB "dongle." The previous generation did not.Downsides in order of increasing severity:1. It is wireless only. In the previous generation, you could chose a wired version.2. It is difficult on the new generation to know when your thumb is on the middle button.3. This may be a driver issue but when you try to use the middle button to scroll, the middle button click event is sent. This is, for me, the biggest pain and the reason I've gone back to my wired keyboard from the previous generation. These issues are, for me, serious enough that I've gone back to my wired instance of the previous generation.Lenovo: please fix the middle mouse button issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Experiencing very frustrating issueI'm having a weird and very frustrating issue. Typing "you" often triggers the screen extension/duplication control panel. (It's as if I typed the Windows key + P instead.) It's very disruptive since it's stops my typing flow. (For what it's worth, I'm connected to my ThinkPad laptop via Bluetooth.) Lenovo, how can I fix this? (Aside from this very annoying glitch, the keyboard is great.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Imperfect, but easily the best keyboard I've ownedI love my ThinkPad laptop keyboard and TrackPoint mouse and wanted the same user experience while my laptop was docked. I also wanted a wireless keyboard, as my desk already has more than enough cables snaking around it. So I was thrilled to discover this detached version of the excellent ThinkPad keyboard, which has Bluetooth functionality. It's exactly what I was looking for and I'm mostly thrilled with it. I can think of only three drawbacks. One is that—as reviews elsewhere have attested—scrolling with the TrackPoint mouse is a bit cantankerous on Linux. Unless you're very exacting in how you lift your fingers off the mouse when you're done scrolling, the PC will register the middle-button press as paste-from-clipboard. As a result, when scrolling through a file it's quite easy to accidentally paste a bunch of text into the middle of your document without intending to. The ThinkPad's onboard Trackpoint isn't nearly so finicky.Second, unlike with the onboard ThinkPad keyboard, this one has no backlight, which means it's hard to use in the dark or with low light. Admittedly, there are fewer situations where I'd use the detached keyboard with the lights out than the laptop's integrated keyboard. Still, there have been situations where it would've been nice to have used this keyboard in low-light settings and I'm unable to do so without fat-fingering a lot of key combinations. Finally, I'd note that unlike the ThinkPad Bluetooth Laser Mouse, which takes AA batteries, this keyboard has an onboard battery that you charge with a USB cable. Each charge lasts for weeks; it's highly convenient. At the same time, I can't help but worry about what happens when the battery finally wears out. Given how great the product is in other respects, I'd like to keep it forever (or at least as long as the old PC keyboards from the 1990s that are still kicking around). But its life is almost certainly going to be constrained by the longevity of the onboard battery, which isn't user replaceable. To circle back to my original assessment, though, these are largely small foibles in a fantastic product. I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't already love the ThinkPad typing experience, and this product delivers on that promise in spades. If that's what you're looking for, too, you won't be disappointed. It's easily the best keyboard I've ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally...Love this product. I have been waiting for this keyboard and it fully meets my expectations. I currently use one of the Carbon X1 models, and I just could not get used to other Bluetooth keyboards. Now, alternating between the built-in keyboard and this keyboard cannot be more natural. The material seems to be slightly different from the built-in keyboard, but I got used to this very soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very convenient Keyboard and Mouse ComboThis keyboard is a game changer. The trackpoint allows for one device to serve as keyboard and mouse. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for max 2 devices, with its unique connectionThe keyboard can AT MOST connect to two devices. It is required that one connection goes through the USB receiver, and one goes through Bluetooth. Also, please note, the USB-C port is only for charging. Even with the cable shipped with the unit, when connected directly to the USB port through the cable, this keyboard stays with the previous connection mode, ether Bluetooth or USB receiver. Again, there is no such a thing as cabled-connection experience with this keyboard.Swift Pair does work, but may only help when pairing with new devices. It does have "side effects", as of **forgetting** the previously connected Bluetooth devices. This saves 1/2 of the hassle to pair a **new** keyboard to a new computer, skipping the scanning and choosing step. However, it is NOT meant for hosting simultaneous Bluetooth-pairing among a set of computers: the Bluetooth pairing, once done, can only stay with the most recently connected device. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The OGI like this keyboard. The track point is the primary selling point. For those who know, they know. It’s far more efficient to have the near instant ability to move the cursor with your index finger and click with your thumb, and be able to type - all without needing to move your hand to trackpad or a mouse. Is it as precise as a mouse for super fine tasks? Maybe not, but for productivity warriors who grew up using thinkpads, this is a fantastic Bluetooth option that should be useful for years to come.

I can't know how much battery remains. If Lenovo provides the key mapping through software to swap the Fn key and Cntl key, It would be perfect. But this track point overcomes all of the negative points. Good device but a lot of lack.

I have an X1 carbon gen 6 and the keyboard is slightly different from this, but it still has a great typing feel. The fact that it’s Bluetooth and has a usb dongle is a really nice feature. Had this keyboard for a month or so and I’m very happy with the product. The two legs to prop it up seem sturdy enough to me, though other reviewers have said otherwise. Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great overall bluetooth keyboard! The ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard II is a great new keyboard from Lenovo. Bluetooth pairs perfectly with any device, and it doesn't have the typing lag that the original Compact Keyboard was plagued with. There are a few quibbles that I have with this model, one of which will hopefully be fixed with a future firmware update.-First off, they reduced the room between the space bar and the mouse buttons, and added a little indent underneath the bottom row. In that sense I liked the original version better. You have to be conscious about not hitting the mouse buttons when you are hitting space.-As to what I referenced above, you cannot see the remaining battery life of the device in Windows 10. Very minor though and will hopefully be seen in a firmware update.Otherwise, a GREAT keyboard. Definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I miss the older thinkpad designs. The flat design of the Trackpoint buttons is horrible compared to the older designs and even my P1. Trying to click the middle scroll button I always hit the raised shell plastic between the button and the spacebar. The keyboard buttons feel good, but the layout is worse than the old 7 row thinkpad keyboards I loved like on T61p. Making the arrows keys smaller and jamming the page up/down keys in the lower right is too cramped for my accuracy. media control keys are an annoying omission too. The Bluetooth works fine. If I didn't love the Trackpoint I'd have bought another brand.

I love the way it feels and it is super easy to carry around. The use of the usb dongle and usb-c support are great additions too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fn & Ctrl keys should be swappableI like the keyboard except for one thing - unlike on the Thinkpad laptops, you cannot swap the Fn & Ctrl keys. This is a deal breaker for me because Ctrl+Shift is a frequent key combination for me and the default layout makes this very awkward and unusable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well built, works well, but with compromisesBackground: I have been a ThinkPad user since 600E, and I have always loved the keyboards, even as ThinkPad as a whole moved on to Chiclets. While I mostly use mechanical keyboards these days, when I do need a wireless keyboard + mouse combo, I'm left with few choices, often ending up with those touchpad + rubber dome ones. They can be rather clumsy at times. When I got the word that the new wireless TrackPoint Keyboard released, I immediately placed my order. The unit is very well built and works well. It feels exactly the same as my company-issued ThinkPad P51 (with exceptions; see below). Heck, the styling reminds me of the T40-T61 era, complete with 45 degree chamfers and knurled slide switches --- a really nice touch. That said, here are some minor complaints. If resolved, this would truly be a perfect tool.1. The TrackPoint buttons are quite awkward, featuring too short a travel and the position goes against my muscle memory of my (admittedly older) ThinkPads. Even the P51 has a better set. Please, no more of this flat TrackPoint button nonsense... Button travel is what sets ThinkPad apart from competition.2. There is no easy way to change just the sensitivity of the TrackPoint (without changing the global mouse speed). On a 4k screen it takes so much effort just to move from one corner to another.3. The Windows driver is garbage. I vaguely remember all the nice things UltraNav drivers used to allow you to change, including the sensitivity I just mentioned, click-the-cap, etc.. **More importantly, it DESTROYS the perfectly good out-of-the-box behavior for the middle-key: "click is middle click, hold is scroll".** Just don't install the driver... you will only uninstall it soon after.4. Switching to bluetooth requires a convoluted dance of switch off, switch to bluetooth, switch on, switch to bluetooth pair. This involves two switches on two sides of the unit. Why can't this be all in one switch escapes me. Why can't I have a 4-position switch in an arrangement like USB-off-BT-PAIR(momentary), if there is no avoiding the "switch off" step.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wireless Keyboard with Trackpoint.Trackpoint is great for work areas without space for a mouse (e.g. from couch or bed. Bluetooth works with my Android phone, and the wireless USB dongle works with Windows 10. The build quality is less than what the cost suggests. USB port does not seem to be reinforced for long-term use as a wired keyboard. (A prior keyboard became unusable because the USB port could not maintain a tight connection.) The battery does not appear to be user-replaceable, which limits the keyboard's usable lifespan. Expect to receive it one month after ordering. Shipping from China took half a week. Expect the box to be opened by Customs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The build quality is so bad it broke in a year...But I am buying another one. When it works it is such a fantastic tool. But when I got it, it would creak every time I placed my hand on it (just left side). Within 1 month of getting it the left side foot had broken. Within 6 months, and with normal use it developed a deep crack on the top left side. No Impact other than dropped my phone on it from a height of about 2 inches that caught the corner a couple of times. I am hoping I got a lemon, I should have been more careful of that side since it had been creaking from day one. Oh well.I am going to "Not recommend" for now, I really dont want to drop the cash on a replacement but here I am. Even if the second one is fantastic this is going to be a not recommended from me cause QC.

The ability to switch between the dongle and Bluetooth make it SUPER useful in my setup where I've got two separate computers. Now I can have them up on stands for better viewing and use 1 keyboard (with TrackPoint! to control both. Exactly what I wanted and super easy to use and setup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not worth the premium price that they are askingTyping on this keyboard is not enjoyable at all. If your going to offer a keyboard like this, and charging a premium. I would have put my best foot forward, this should have been the same keys that are used in the X1. These are not the same keys, as the X1. The spacing of the keys are completely off and uncomfortable. The function short cut keys for windows menus don't work. I am not sure if this means that this one is defective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally! So good I bought TWO. Lacks NKRO thoughI've been waiting for this keyboard for years. Used ThinkPads forever, then I had the previous version of this keyboard, I tried out the Apple Keyboard and a couple mechanical keyboards. There's nothing that beats the old ThinkPad design! And it's wireless! It doesn't feel exactly like my old T-series, but it's close enough. This keyboard feels smooth to move between the keys, like playing a piano. And having a trackpoint again is a blessing, even working on a desktop. I've got one for my work computer and one for my personal.A word of caution - if you are a gamer or person who cares about "rollover" or "ghosting", this is not an n-key-rollover keyboard. I have tried mapping special key combinations using AutoHotKey and some of the keys don't work when you try to do key combos with 3+ keys. Not a huge issue for me because there are some keys that do, but it would be nice if Lenovo would make this board even better with NKRO.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good update with two caveatsThe build quality is very good. It is heavier and sturdier than the previous model. Having three ways of connecting to a PC Is great (wired, 2.4GHz, Bluetooth). You can even operate your iPhone. There are two caveats here. 1 Center button. The physical design has been changed. Hard to locate just by touching with fingers because all the three buttons are flat. Lenovo should definitely revert the design. 2 Leg design not improved. It is well known that the legs have design flaws which may lead to breakage due to stress concentration. So I don’t recommend this to hard typists.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the upgrade from the original.Key feel are an upgrade from the earlier version of this - which I used until getting this one. The TrackPoint is smoother too. Basically feels exactly like a ThinkPad laptop keyboard, where the old one didn't quite. Overall build quality is a bit nicer too, more solid. Same or better fantastic battery life, likely won't know for many more weeks or months. Upgrades include USB C charge connector, physical switch to toggle on/off, switch to select Windows/Android, switch to select Bluetooth/Dongle.As with the old one, I appreciate the small, wire free footprint, not needing a mouse, ease of connecting, several months battery life, quick charge, and the fact that it's the same feel and layout as my laptops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even better than I'd expected... a high bar.I'm thrilled with my TrackPoint Keyboard II! Lenovo continues the IBM legacy of producing keyboards that feel "just right," from the first time you use them... and this is no exception. I've used it with my all-in-one from across the room (connecting via the included USB dongle and it is seamless. Same when connecting via Bluetooth with my Samsung Galaxy S4 tablet. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small keyboard with huge things going for it.This keyboard has three huge things going for it. The first huge thing is its size, perfectly small. Second is the trackpoint, the truly perfect way to navigate. The third is the keyboard itself. It's great. Two nits keep it from a five star rating. First, I hate that you have to charge it. Wish it had a battery you could just pop in. Second, the documentation, if you can call it that, in the box points you to a download to access features, but you cannot get to the download.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wolud be pefrect if CTRL/FN swappedThis keyboard would be great if there will be possible to swap left CTRL key and FN button. If it is possible on my Thinkpad laptop then it should be possible on this keyboard too. Next feature which I miss is a backlit of the buttons which is again present on my laptop keyboard. When CTRL/FN swap option will be available I would give 9/10 for this keyboard. Moreover if backlit of the keys would be present I will give 10/10 but without CTRL/FN swp feature keyboard is annoying.

Only issue is that it seems like the "o" key is a little touch sensitive - meaning that when typing a word that has an "o" in it, often the "o" doesn't get entered in the word. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Keyboard I've UsedIt's been a week since I've had this keyboard and I really like it. It's much better than the first edition, feels like it's premium, the keys feel better to type on, and even the mouse keys feel better. I'm a software developer so I'm on this all day and the trackpoint keeps me on my keyboard. I really enjoyed the keyboard on my ThinkPad X1 Yoga (gen 1) which is what got me to buy this thing. You can set the keyboard up to be on Bluetooth for one PC and have dongle on another, and you just flip the switch. It feels solid and has a nice weight (I have the gen1 wired version which felt hollow and bendy). I personally prefer this over mechanical keyboards for programming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice!-Setup was a bit frustrating. Make sure you don’t turn Bluetooth off on your computer once the keyboard is connected or you’ll have to use an alternate keyboard/mouse. -Bluetooth connection about 8 feet away from PC, although not line of sight, resulted in constant missed keystrokes. I moved the switch to 2.4 ghz and everything has been perfect, but I still don’t understand which hardware in my PC is accepting that signal. -I’d like to be able to turn my PC on with the keyboard but that doesn’t seem possible. -It feels substantial and that’s a good thing. Reasonably heavy. -I don’t like that the center mouse button isn’t raised (although it’s slightly textured at the top), so my finger often drifts to the right. -The key travel seems way shallower than any of the dozen ThinkPads I’ve owned over the years (Last one was a T43). That said, it’s infinitely better than the Dell wireless keyboard that came with my computer. -I replaced the Trackpoint cap with my favorite, the Soft Rim. I’m very pleased overall with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard II ReviewI have been a big fan of Thinkpad since 2015, I found that typing on my laptop was far more comfortable than my desktop; so when I saw that I can buy identical keyboard for my desktop, I was thrilled. This keyboard looks and feels the same as a Thinkpad X1 Extreme (Gen 1), size and all. The keyboard has a low profile, so your wrist sit comfortably on your desk, not propped up at a angle. The TrackPoint is a very useful as well. I am currently enrolled in online school and do a lot of typing, so I very much appreciate the comfort level this keyboard offers. If Lenovo could improve two things on this product, I would say they should add a fingerprint reader and a back-light for added convenience. Overall, I was very pleased with my purchases and would recommend this product to anyone else who enjoys their Thinkpad typing experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for multiple devicesThe improved design uses a sturdier usbc port for charging, and it switches between usb and bluetooth very smoothly. I have this paired with a macbook pro (usb as well as an ipad (bluetooth) and couldn’t be happier with the setup. The trackpoint works in iOS! While not as smooth as a magic trackpad, it does a good job with navigation and basic point and click. The only challenge I had was with the usb dongle and lag. It seems to interfere with other signals based on its location and proximity. After buying a usb extension cable and placing the dongle closer to the keyboard, there is no longer any perceivable lag.Overall, a perfect device for my needs. Would be even better with backlight or the older style keyboard, but very happy with the current iteration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard IIReally nice keyboard. No setup issues, great key feel and the trackpoint works flawlessly. Anyone remember how the older trackpoints drifted away if you held contact for too long? My x60s, which was at the IBM/Lenovo transition, does this pretty badly. This trackpoint doesn't do it at all. I don't know how or when Lenovo achieved this upgrade but they deserve solid credit for it. I would have given this keyboard five stars (and maybe should have) except I don't think the flatter click and scroll keys are an improvement. I wouldn't say it's hard to use them- it's just not as effortless.Make it four and a half stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trackpoints for all!I got this keyboard because I was having ergonomics issues with my work computer setup and I love using the trackpoint on my home Thinkpad. It’s a possible ergonomic alternative like trackballs and tilted mice to using regular mice. The low profile design allows it to be propped up in a wrist rest to angle the keyboard negatively and using the trackpoint seems to relieve pressure on my wrist. Too early to say yet, but I think this will solve my wrist pain issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best keyboard I've ever used!I love this keyboard!!! I have always loved the thinkpad keyboard, as I own probably around 10 different thinkpads from over the years, and this keyboard is seriously my favorite to type on, save maybe for the old 7-row from the xx20 line. It's super easy to use, the battery lasts a very long time, latency is imperceptible, and I could not be happier!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best keyboard I've ever usedI love the thinkpad laptops because of the great keyboard, to me it's the best out there, and wanted to have same quality for a wireless keyboard. The trackpoint keyboard II didn't disappoint, it gives you the same typing experience, very comfortable, thin and sleek, and the keys are soft on click. I would say 99% similar to the laptop keyboard. This is the wireless keyboard to get, if you're a fan of the thinkpad laptop keyboard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Few thingsEvery time I boot up my laptop, I have to turn off fn lock. You need it off to use volume controls. The chassis bows up towards the center. I'm still waiting for one with the number pad. ThinkPad should also include swappable fn and ctrl keys and have a hard switch on the keyboard to switch the keys' functions. Since I use it on an HP, there's no option in the bios to switch them.

Love that it has wireless usb because I use it with my monitor’s built in KVM switch — so I can easily switch between my Linux and Mac setups. One suggestion for Mac users: I remapped cmd and alt keys so they match Apple’s layout and used a label maker to create stickers for those keys to indicate their new purpose. (I suppose It could physically swap the keys but I don’t want to find out the hard way that it’s not possible!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You need to enable swapping the FN CTRL keys.God awful that you won't let me switch the FN and CTLR keys. Like, that's such a default expected thing, and it's trivial to do in the software. All of your laptops have this, both in software and in the bios. I don't see why this keyboard has to be an exception. That's inconsistent design. It's a shame, it truly is potentially the perfect keyboard. You could easily take over the entire keyboard market with this switch. But you won't. My unit was also straight up defective so there's that. I would like to see a gen 3 where this keyboard is done right. You open it up to so many users with fn ctrl swtich. Like, what was your marketing team even thinking. What was your design team thinking with not including this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it, with reservations...I like the feel and quiet sound of the clicks. I like the small size of the unit, although the actual usable keyboard is exactly the same size as the Logitech K350 that it replaced. I like using my mouse with this keyboard, as too much use of the track point ball leaves my hands feeling cramped and restricted. What would make this keyboard perfect for me? A number pad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best wireless for a fast typistThis has been a lifesaver for working from home. My ThinkPad laptop needs to be up on a stand for my posture at my home office. I've tried a couple different wireless keyboards, but they can't keep up with my typing speed and have a different layout than my laptop. This was well worth the money to have a similar layout and fast key response. Would be 5 stars if the top keys (volume, mic, brightness) worked. I'm sure there is a way but it isn't instant. The keys and trackpoint on the keyboard did not disappoint. Was everything I was looking for. Keyboard is also very lightweight. However, about 6 months after use, the tilt keys did not hold up. See attached picture. After looking through the support site, seemed like a lot people had the same experience. So if the tilt feet is a big selling point for you, take caution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would be the perfect companion...BUTThis keyboard would be the perfect solution for me IF one could swap the Fn & CTRL buttons like you can on any ThinkPad in recent history. You cannot so it does not function like a standard desktop keyboard. I was able to confirm in the forums that Lenovo has no intention of adding this functionality with a firmware update. It appears to be possible on the older wired version, but is still an unsupported "hack". Really bummed. Switching between desktops and roaming with different keyboard layouts is a deal breaker for me. Hope this helps someone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inferior to the old layoutI really miss the old layout. The one with the vertical escape and delete keys. The size reduction is insignificant but the lots of function is. Plus the narrow palm rest sort of encourages my hands to stay high when I go for the arrow keys which makes me but the page up or down keys instead. Not a problem on my X1 with the exact same layout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most practical keyboardHaving like use to be only on a laptop, is fantastic, the power of keeping your hands in the keyboard is pretty good, the keys in general feel as everybody know about thinkpad, fantastic. The reason to remove a start is that the nipple start to moves by itself after some use, and I see in the forums many people complaining about it, and the only solution is turn off the keyboard, and turn it on again, so clearly is not a physical problem, is something else. The other reason to remove a star is that the switching between using the dongle and the bluetooth is somewhat slow, like 6 seconds, I have other keyboard that just does it instant, and this is something I really want it to have two devices control with one keyboard in this way, the range of the dongle is not more than 3 feet if you want it to use it typing fast, beyond that became to be a slow keyboard, the bluetooth in the other hand works great. At the end I love it, I wait so so many years to have this keyboard just in general since the first thinkpad I ever use so many years ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Durable, does not live up to the Thinkpad nameI love Thinkpad keyboards and using the red nub so I thought this would be great. After a few weeks, one of the flip out feet broke and I spent hours with support trying to get a replacement part, but the agent could not even find the product in the system. It was like they don't consider this a product of theirs. I was finally able to get them to honor the warranty but i had to send in the whole keyboard first then they would send a replacement. So I was without my keyboard for over a month, terrible service. With the new one I never use the feet out of fear they will break again. Shortly after a year (the warranty period) a keycap breaks off. I have tried again to find a replacement part but support doesn't offer parts and now I'm out of warranty.

If you've always liked the long-standing best Thinkpad keyboard and TrackPoint, you'll find that here in an easy to set up portable wireless format. Solid build with no sacrifices in layout or spacing. Sturdy fold out feet give comfortable typing angle and good traction on smooth surfaces, good weight for typing on it in your lap. TrackPoint gives easy nav in even bumpy conditions.Easy out-of-the-box setup and simple connection to a variety of devices; Android phone, Windows, NVIDIA Shield. Some individual apps on Shield don't fully utilize track point nav but still worked with arrow keys.Classic Thinkpad quality at a great price point. There are certainly cheaper wireless keyboards out there, but in most cases exactly that, cheaper build, and none with the well-designed TrackPoint.

Lenovo's system will not recognize the serial number, so they are unable to open a support ticket. Dealing with Lenovo over this issue has completely changed my impression of the company. Do not buy any Lenovo accessories and assume they will honor the warranty that comes in the box. There are dozens and dozens of complaints on the support forum about the same issue. Lenovo representatives on the support forum say that the defective legs are a known issue and to contact customer support. But customer support is powerless to open a support ticket. Customer support will transfer you to sales, who will then transfer you back to customer support and so on.

This keyboard, in combination with Apedroid's "External Keyboard Helper" app, *almost* works: I can swap capslock and right-control, and I can swap backtick/tilde with escape. However, no matter what I do, I can't combine the (repositioned control key with backslash or underscore. The hardware seems good, but the firmware's ability to be reconfigured is nonexistent, and External Keyboard Helper, strong as it is, isn't strong enough to overcome that completely. I'm disappointed. I also have several non-Bluetooth, wired USB Lenovo trackpoint keyboards (several of them, in fact). Alas, they cannot be used with my Pixel phone because the phone offers no way to connect other than Bluetooth. (And wired keyboards are so... last-century.) I have no solution other than to map the unmappable keys to new ALT combinations, because that's what External Keyboard Helper supports, but this upends 65 years of keyboarding habits dating back to the Lear-Siegler ADM-3 computer terminal, which, with deep correctness from the perspective of productivity, put the control key where IBM decreed there should always, stupidly, be a rarely-used capslock key. IBM did that to please the existing users of already-obsolete typewriters (typewriters had no control key, obviously, but IBM had a large-for-the-era customer base of ex-typewriter users). Everyone has suffered, ever since, from a productivity-poisoning need to leave the home row every time a control key is needed. Crazy. Ever since, many many computer users have struggled to remap the control key on every kind of computer and terminal. Mostly, we've succeeded in doing that. With this Bluetooth keyboard, it can *almost*, but not quite, be done. Sad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE GOAT WIRELESS KEYBOARDOne of the most satisfying keyboards to type on. When I found out that Lenovo had made their famous keyboard a wireless accessory, I bought one immediately. The built-in TrackPoint mouse also adds another huge layer of functionality to this already wonderful keyboard. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a wireless keyboard!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific solution for wireless keyboardI wanted a solution for when I work on my laptop with the Lenovo monitor I bought. I tried other wireless keyboards, and I tried a wireless mouse, too. But keyboards just don't feel as good as my X1 Carbon keyboard, and I hated having a mouse+keyboard to store. I feel that this product is rather expensive, but it was worth it because it meets my needs. I actually don't use the TrackPoint on my X1 Carbon - I use the Track Pad instead. But when using the keyboard with the external monitor, the TrackPoint is a great alternative to the mouse. I really love it. The battery life is wonderful, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Keyboard! This is an amazing keyboard. It even feels better than the one on my ThinkPad X270. It feels welt built. I love the fact that it has the Trackpoint. If you love Thinkpad keyboard you will definitely love this one. I don't mind the fact that it does not have a dedicated number keys on the side. It keeps the device smaller and more portable. It fits easily in a small backpack and I can carry it with me everyday to work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have keyboardNo other keyboard comes close to the design of this keyboard. Light weight, good feel, fast typing speed, and hardly ever a need to look away from screen to check placement on the keyboard. Hands remain on home keys comfortably while using trackpoint. Use Bluetooth or dongle to connect to almost any devices. Slightly heavier than original Trackpoint keyboard, yet hardly noticeable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An improvement on the first one. It's easy to use and set up, and is just like the keyboards on the laptops. The first version of this had a few minor issues that this one fixes: you no longer need to unpair and pair again to use this with another computer. It also has a receiver so that you do not need to use Bluetooth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good but can be betterI have been using a Thinkpad laptop since years and I absolutely love the keyboard of tat. It provides a very comfortable and fast typing experience and I ordered this one with the same expectation. Must say that this is not as good as the one on the laptop but I will still use it because it is still better than others in the market. However , I would expect Lenovo to improve this and make it as good as the one on the laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ThinkPad Wireless KeyboardGreat legendary ThinkPad keyboard feel and layout in a small compact form, plus it's wireless. It's perfect for ThinkPads that will be docked at a desk if you want to close the lid so you will still have access to the same keys (i.e. function and volume keys). The response is not quite exactly like the old IBM ThinkPads (like my older clunky W or T models) but I still prefer it over most laptops especially the thin feeling of Macbooks. Though I wish they would bring back the touchpad versions which would be very convenient for the occasional couch surfing. The last remark I would say is that I turn it off when I'm not using it and am still on my first charge! It's been a few months of light to medium use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thinkpad TrackPoint keyboard II ReviewThis is a very solid device! If you enjoy using the trackpoint, this keyboard is very good. I also like the feature that allows you to switch between Bluetooth and dongle connections. It also includes a feature to switch between android and pc configuration for the keyboard. I decided to purchase this keyboard because I enjoy using the TrackPoint and I wanted to have a Bluetooth keyboard that came with an integrated pointing device. I have been using this keyboard with my desktop computer mainly to do work and stream video. If I could only ask for one more thing it would be a backlight to this keyboard. It doesn’t contain it, but all in all it’s a great device! The key travel is excellent, the battery life is excellent and I am really happy with this purchase! I highly recommend this keyboard since it has many good features including the trackpoint as a solid mouse replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best TrackPoint Keyboard on the Market!Great ThinkPad Keyboard - replaced my USB connected TrackPoint keyboard. More maneuverability with a wireless connection. Only complaint is I wish Lenovo had not changed the layout of the keyboard - the old style was a much better design for typing. But as the only TrackPoint keyboard on the market one has to adjust unfortunately. Getting the keyboard to connect to my ThinkStation P330 was a challenge, but with persistence, I prevailed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Familiar FeelI bought this for the docking station, so I can plug in either my personal or work laptop (a Thinkpad E15 and a Thinkpad P15) and use the same keyboard. Very similar, but not an exact match. But, still makes it very easy to move between the devices when all of the keyboards have an identical layout and a similar feel. And I'm so used to using the Trackpoint, that this is really the only option for me.My biggest complaint is they don't make a similar keyboard with the 9-digit keypad on the right, so I have to use another accessory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The product is extremely unreliable cannot aprove. The Keyboard would be OK (Not great, it will never measure up to 41A5091 which was great) but it would be usable ACCEPT for the fact that the USB connector used is junk. When discussing this keyboard you cannot use the phrase "If the USB connector fails throw out the keyboard.", you must use the phrase "WHEN the USB connector fails throw out the key board", it is absolutely rock solid sure the connector will fail and it will do it fast, because the USB connector is junk and not at all up to the task of maintaining a reliable connection. The connector will fail, it will fail after very little use, because of this the keyboard is trash within a very short time of deployment. I am shocked that a company of Lenovo's stature would have such a poorly designed product. I am also saddened that this poor example is the last TrakPoint keyboard in production. I like TrackPoint (A lot) I wish somebody would make a useful keyboard.Thank YouNick

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great potential, falls short on the details. They keyboard and Trackpoint feel great. The keyboard is much noisier than my Thinkpad laptop's (x260). One of the feet broke with very little pressure put on it. I have not been able to get the middle button scrolling to work as expected. No side to side scrolling, both the press and the release are considered a click so often when I am trying to scroll it opens websites or copies text.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Skip using the onscreen keyboard when texting! If you are fan of Lenovo's keyboards, and are looking for a good keyboard to use with your phone or tablet, then look no further. This keyboard is fantastic! I prefer to use it when answering a text while sitting at my desk as I despise using the onscreen keyboard. It also works great if you have a workspace that is very tight - we have a desk setup that doesn't have much real estate, and so this comfortable keyboard fits the bill as we don't need to connect a mouse. The only negative is that the feet are not the sturdiest - we have multiple keyboards here, and some of them have broken! We were able to replace with a sturdier 3D printed alternative. I did gave it 5 stars because it doesn't prevent usage at all, but just be aware that you may want to be a bit careful with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Critical missing functionality: Fn+Ctrl SwapReturned immediately due to a lack of ability to switch Fn & Control keys on a hardware/firmware level. Half my lenovo machines have control on the right, and the other half have it on the left (like the rest of the industry & my non-lenovo machines). Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost there…Overall great. Love the USB and Bluetooth support. Love the built in track pad/pointer. Makes it very convenient for couch-TV use. The only flaw I see is the depth of the space bar compared to the front keyboard lip where you rest your palms on. With most keyboards I can tap the space at with my thumbs pretty comfortably. But due to the front lip being slightly taller than the spacebar you really have to force your thumb down to hit the space bar. The design just needs some tweaks to perfect it. Build quality is also very nice. Doesn’t feel cheap, though I would always prefer metal over plastic. I see note value here compared to an apple keyboard due to the built in mouse, but it’s slightly behind in comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worse than the keyboards in ThinkPad laptopsThe TrackPoint buttons are poorly implemented. They are flat and hard to grope. The barely noticeable bumps on the middle button do little to help. On ThinkPad laptops (especially older ones) these buttons are designed much more intelligently and feel (grope blindly) much better. The Fn and Ctrl keys cannot be programmatically swapped, similar to how it is possible on ThinkPad laptops. This is a big disadvantage for me that makes serious work at the computer impossible. This product cannot be found by the serial number on the Lenovo website. This means that there is no possibility to contact Support on the site.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NEEDS Numeric Keypad option to be perfect!I wish there were a 4.5 star option, because this is a really terrific keyboard, it's just lacking a couple of options that would truly make it perfect. The ThinkPad TrackPoint keyboard makes the keyboard of the laptop (or desktop) you're using entirely irrelevant, as it gives you the comfort of a ThinkPad keyboard - each key basically hugs each finger it touches, and makes typing a more comfortable experience. Add in the TrackPoint feature, and it's spectacular, especially for someone like me, who after multiple spinal fusion surgeries are unable to type using a laptop (or sitting at a desk with a desktop), for any significant period of time. The ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard gives me the ability to position the keyboard in a position that is more comfortable for me, while still being able to view screen etc, AND, I'm able to use the mouse (aka TrackPoint) to navigate without moving my arms! I know the trackpoint is relatively controversial - most people either love it or hate it, but I think it's absolutely genius. My spine & I thank you! There is one thing that would make this wonderful keyboard even better, though...a numpad!! I VERY much wish there was a ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard WITH Numpad available! That would bring it all together for me, and make it the BEST (and only!) option of its kind available! As it stands, I need to have TWO separate wireless keyboards, one WITH numpad, and this ThinkPad keyboard. I would be thrilled not to need 2 keyboards cluttering up my space, when I really only need the 2nd keyboard for the numeric keypad! (The other keyboard is the Lenovo Essentials Wireless, which runs on AA batteries rather than being rechargeable like the ThinkPad TrackPoint keyboard). I like the keys on the Essentials keyboard as well (similar to ThinkPad TrackPoint in the way they cup or hug your fingers thanks to the curve in them), and love the NumPad, but the Essentials keyboard lacks the mouse/TrackPoint functionality, and as mentioned, batteries vs rechargeable... so, 2 keyboards it is, until Lenovo listens to its customers and brings us a ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard WITH numeric keyboard - I really hope that day comes soon!In case Lenovo is reading this, another wonderful bonus to a TrackPoint keyboard would be offering a backlight option! I would absolutely LOVE a ThinkPad TrackPoint keyboard WITH NUMPAD AND Backlighting! Those 2 little things would make this already great keyboard absolute perfection!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty Good!I love these keyboards, and I'm really happy that there is finally a new model to replace my old one that broke. Rated 5 out of 5 by from You might get a good one, or notThis 2-star rating is a combined rating of the two Trackpoint II keyboards that I've purchased. The first one works fine (and I'd have given it a 4-star rating, only because I'd prefer a full size layout, which they don't offer as a wireless with the trackpoint, the second one that was ordered later arrived with a dead battery. I spent approximately 2 hours on the phone with support, when it has a dead battery. Installing drivers isn't going to help with a dead battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ThinkPad Keyboard on non-ThinkPad computersI purchased this keyboard to be used with my Legion desktop computer because I wanted the trackball from the ThinkPad keyboard. The feel is like a ThinkPad computer although I get to have a super robust graphics card and processor to go along.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ready to Write a Book!I'm transitioning to retirement and in a few weeks will no longer have my trusty ThinkPad T580. I personally own a 2nd generation ThinkPad X1 Tablet, which came with a very thin and flexy keyboard, which is fine for light typing--- but does not stand up to all day writing. It is also a bit cramped. The X1 needed an external keyboard, and nothing can beat ThinkPad keyboards with their built in TrackPoint mouse.I like that it is both Bluetooth and dongle connected, and is compatible with Android devices. The feel is 100% as solid as my current ThinkPad, and possibly even better! This TP keyboard reminds my of some of my older TP models. The feel is certain and smooth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best bluetooth keyboard for windowsI have the ThinkPad TrackPoint Keyboard version 1 as well. This has improvements, and less successful changes. USB C is great. BT connection seems more reliable. But the key travel is more shallow, the mouse nub is lower, the mouse left and right click keys are more shallow as well. Still, the best B/T keyboard I've experienced, and I have bought just about everything available to use with my two Surface Pros.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great keyboard!I absolutely love this keyboard. It is small and compact and has a great feel. I love that it has the track point as a back up in case my mouse dies. I read a lot of reviews that mostly complained about the location of the Fn and Ctrl keys. I agree it takes a bit of getting used to because they are swapped on most keyboards. I use a ThinkPad laptop for work/home use so I chose to get something with the same key layout because I had already built up the muscle memory of where the keys are located. Other than that the keyboard has a great feel and I love typing on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Track point cityIf you are a fan of the track point this keyboard is a must. Usually when I use an external keyboard I will be using a mouse, so the use cases for this aren't as obvious. I will be putting this is the conference room at my office. During internal meetings you don't need to pass the keyboard and mouse around for other people to make a point. It's one piece. As far as having a media PC in a living room goes, I think this is a much better option than any other all in one keyboard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice keyboard!I'm using for writing e-mails, documents and coding. It's a really good keyboard, very responsive and reliable. I'm not fan of the trackpoint, but I'm using more than I expected.Without number pad, it fit very good in my desk.I would say the feeling using the keys is between Apple keyboard and mechanical keyboard. (ok, may be I'm stretching here). Recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improvement over v1 - still no backlightExcellent keyboard, love the multi channel and the metal casing, definitely an improvement over version 1. Highly recommend. Only thing missing in order to reach 5 stars is a backlight option. All keyboards really needs this today, just a faint light will do wonders in the dark.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I want, even if the feet break easilyThe biggest issue with these is the flimsy keyboard stand fold-outs. I've had to 3D print out my own a number of times. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great portable keyboard with integrated TrackPointI love everything about this keyboard with the exception that it is not ergonomic. It has the best scissor switches I have ever used and it actually makes me type faster with fewer errors than any other keyboard. People say it doesn't feel quite as good as the keyboard on the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, which I do own, but the slight difference is probably due to the fact that it is on a less robust plastic base compared to the more solid structure of the ThinkPad Laptop. Finally, I really like the integrated ThinkTrack mouse stick thingy because it precludes me needing to bring a mouse while moving my computer. It does not take that long to get used to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great potential, problematic executionI have three versions of this keyboard -- the usb wired, the V1 bluetooth, and the V2 bluetooth. I use the V2 bluetooth as my main keyboard. BT works well, and the keys work well. Problems include POOR keyboard feet, which have broken in all three versions. I agree with others who call for backlighting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Opinions and Comparisons with Original ModelCompared to the first Trackpoint Bluetooth Keyboard, this one is an extreme step up. The keys feel far nicer than the original, the mouse buttons are clicky, the fact I can now use a USB Dongle and not only bluetooth is wonderful in situations where I do not have access to bluetooth. The selector switch and power switch are nice because instead of just holding it and waiting for an LED to light up like the original, they are proper on and off switches so I know if the keyboard doesn't turn on, it's likely dead. All in all the Trackpoint Keyboard II is, in my opinion, a far cry above it's original and a great choice for a backpack keyboard, a media center keyboard, or a secondary backup keyboard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thinkpad trackpoint 2Everything I was expecting! Works great, use to type documents on my ultra book in lounge mode on chaise, or in bed to tv. Doubles great for internet surfing with trackpoint. ONLY complaint is the type-C charging port is REALLY tight, and I see how you could break if you aren’t really careful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool idea - but has the feel and function of a toyOn my second one in the last 6 months. The feel of the keyboard is just lightweight and plasticky. Toy-like overall impression.Now. The real drawback.Neither keyboard lasted more than a couple of months. The track point on both got really really wonky. Started with wanting to wander all over the screens all on its own. This required a continuous counter direction pointing - neither comfortable or very precise. I want to use a pointer by feel, not having to watch it at all times. Finally, the track points just got non-responsive in one or two directions. This is just NOT the keyboard from your ThinkPad. NOT RECOMMENDEDED - ACTUALLY, THE RECOMMENDATION IS TO GET SOMETHING ELSE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Working Well With iPad Pro 2021 12.9”I’m a long-time Thinkpad user, so having this keyboard for my new iPad Pro is a wonderful thing. The keyboard isn’t quite as nice as on my current most-used Thinkpad—a T450s—but’s it’s very close…much, much better than the keyboard I tried out on the Macbook Air M1. And it has a trackpoint! I dislike touchpads, so having the trackpoint makes this a much better option for me than the Apple Magic Keyboard. I highly recommend this keyboard for Thinkpad users.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent wireless keyboard!Very comfortable keyboard. Slight curvature to each key is just like the ThinkPad keyboards, and a very responsive key press. Virtually silent. I wish that the Function Lock was on a physical switch so I didn't have to hit Fn + Esc to lock the F1, F2 keys, and I wish that I could hop between 3 or more devices. (You can switch between USB dongle and Bluetooth mode, so 2 devices max). But otherwise, an excellent keyboard. The TrackPoint control is the icing on the cake! Keep my fingers on the keys!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trackpoint Keyboards are the best! The keyboard is great. My only comment was that it wasn't 100% obvious that the wireless USB nub inserted on the back of the keyboard was in a 'dummy' plug (namely it is just a 'holder' for the nub). You are supposed to 'unplug' the nub from the keyboard and plug it into your computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a nice keyboard, it'd better if support 3 deviceLove the lenovo keyobard bluetooth II. My first laptop several years before is a thinkpad 14 inch one, whose keyboard is best one as I used. Later when I switched to MacBook pro, I began to buy thinkpad bluetooth keyboard for coding. Till now, I have owned 2 thinkpad bluetooth I keyboard, 3 thinkpad bluetooth keyboard with 3 devices switchable and one of this 2nd generation. The first several ones are similar feeling when typing. Compared to this one, the previous generations may have around 1/4 more range that I feels a little better. However, the reduced range seems to make the each key more stable and that let typing feel more confident and accurate. So hard to say which one is better. One of the big issue with thinkpad keyboard is that it is very easy to be greasy (e.g. after one month usage or so that make it less comfortable. The matte texture at the surface helps a lot for typing feel while seems wear out soon. Since this generation also use ABS but not PBT key, I guess sooner or later it will appear. One concern of this generation is only switchable between two devices and the switching is not that convenient to control (a tiny switcher on the border, while I prefer a key for this).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Is this a joke? You can't use it with terminal and scrollable content, because events related to middle key works different than all other lenovo keyboards. It you want to scroll terminal - for example - you won't scroll it, but paste the content of your clipboard. Rated 5 out of 5 by from A basic small form factor wireless keyboardI bought this keyboard slightly less than a year ago and the left "leg" broke without any rough treatment on my part (the root cause of the failure seems to be back and forth movement on the desk, as the rubber pads are very sticky on glass). There were no replacements in the package.Other that the weak leags, the build quality seems good. The keyboard feels surprisingly heavy for its size and solid. The typing experience is roughly the same as in ThinkPad laptops, perhaps requiring a tad less force to press the keys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Wireless KeyboardThis is a great keyboard for those of us familiar with Thinkpad keyboards. The Trackpoint is a big productivity aid that allows folks to "mouse around" without having to move your hands away from the keys!I also like the option of using either Bluetooth or Wireless USB. Some company provided computers disable Bluetooth for security reasons. The keyboard also works well using Samsung's Desktop EXperience DEX on mobile devices. My only suggestions would be to allow it to operate as a USB Keyboard (USB A or USB C) while charging or connected to a docking station, and the ability to share the USB dongle with wireless mice since USB A ports are getting more scarce.
