It seems that it was manufactured at the same time as my laptop as it does not hold a charge for very long, but at least it has not swelled to double its normal height like the one it replaced.

The holes for the screws don't line up with the way my laptop has them configured to be accepted. Not going to return the battery though because we have other laptops in our organization that we think this will work for.

Less than 10 months later, it swelled up and was bending open the chassis of the laptop (you could see inside the machine). As the warranty of the laptop had just expired, Dell would not honour the part warranty of the replacement battery. I have been forced to buy a new battery. Time will tell how long this one lasts...
