Not only do the Brothers last, but they are very fast and efficient. Since then, I have purchased Brother Laser writers for my college students. The price point, speed and quality are perfect for college papers and assignments. My favorite thing about Brothers is the quick double-sided printing capability and I have yet to experience paper jams with the three printers I have owned. Highly recommend this little workhorse!

Only complaint is the sleep mode - first print job of the day always fails and the printer isn’t smart enough to wake up on its own - user intervention is required.

I think I get it fixed but no. I can't even get this to turn off. I have to unplug it to turn it off. Why is that? It is junk!

These units are extremely reliable, and are very efficient consumers of cartridges. They can handle various thicknesses of paper, with different surface finishes, with no problems. The HL-L2370DW's only issue - one that's mentioned in MANY reviews of this printer - is its wireless connectivity. We're running Win10 on a couple of PCs; I have to frequently reboot both the PC and the printer to reestablish a connection; otherwise the printer just sits there silent.

I had to restart it, reconnect it, and constantly mess with it to print anything (didn't work no matter what most of the time. I sent it back and the new one works much better. I still have to restart it every morning before attempting to print, but when it's in a good mood, I'm in a good mood.

Looking at printer statistics it said I only printed 746 pages. I did not use the printer much in the first year, so I did not have to change cartridges until initial warranty ran out. Not happy with having to discard a printer like this. This was my first Brother Printer and probably last. Since it was out of manufacturer warranty I paid for diagnostic from a Service Center, no luck getting it to work.

Both are workhorses requiring very little maintenance other than cartridge change and an occasional change of the drum. The print quality is very good on any type of paper. Features are easy to use. My only complaint is the price of the printer is less than the print cartridges. However, I am able to purchase compatible cartridges online for less than the Brother cartridges. They perform as well, so this is a minor inconvenience.

The overall footprint of the printer is compact. This is a good printer; no bells or whistles! True confession: I thought that I could make copies with this printer, but the fact that it is only a printer is my fault for not reading the description more carefully. Fortunately my old slow inkjet printer still makes that occasional copy I need.

I followed her lead and bought it. Easy installation and she’s worked like a charm. I highly recommend brother printers. We love ours.

It’s small enough to sit right on his desk, fast clear printing, easy to reload paper and toner. He is thrilled by the speed and ease of use. Set up was easy and I am sorry I did not get this sooner...he goes through 4-5 reams of paper a week so this guy gets a workout....so far..not one paper jam.

I prefer to proofread a printed copy rather than reviewing onscreen. I use a LOT of paper during the writing process. The L2370DW has everything my old printer had PLUS duplexing, which I use all the time. Easy setup using the small LCD panel. I installed it as a wired network printer but it also supports wireless connectivity. When printing, it is quite a bit noisier than my old printer but I don't print often enough for that to be annoying.

My previous Brother printer , which I'd used for 8-9 years still works perfectly and was passed on to a friend. I'd have to be under duress to consider a different brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from bad software, it printed 1 page, no supporta horrible printer that printed a test page wirelessly, then would not print anymore. a "new" software bug fix showed up and it worked for 1 day, about 6 pages. now its back to unusable. support site and chat are non existent . I have wasted hours trying to find help or reinstall software, drivers or support

However, I've purchased a genuine toner replacement and the software has not recognized it. I've then purchased apparently the same thing from a different store and it worked. One of my employees has seen a similar issue at a different store. The main issue is I need a backup toner cartridge for when I run out, but if I buy one well in advance of needing it and it doesn't work when I finally need it, then I can't return it. To frustrate things, there's no way to read the toner level, so you can't knowlingly buy the toner soon before you run out, and thus have a sufficient window of time to return the cartridge if it doesn't work..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy setup for WiFi & iPhone printing. Works GreatReviewing HL-L2370DW Brother B&W printer: Owned for 3+ months. I was able to set this up using only the big Quick Setup Guide sheet included in the box. After unboxing and sliding in the cartridge, I downloaded the software to my laptop from the URL (in step 6. After running the software on my laptop and nursing it through all the steps, okays, approves, etc. it connected wirelessly very easily. I also then used the software to make it download updates for the printer driver and laptop software. This was a lot to do, but it really took under half an hour.I print from a Lenovo ThinkPad with Windows 10 and an iPhone (using AirPrint). I have no problem printing while the printer is in sleep or deep sleep mode. I like that it has deep sleep mode to save energy. Comments about it using a lot of energy are misleading because it only uses that energy while printing. Most of the time, it is sleeping. Information in the most popular review is wrong. It does have a power button (maybe they were reviewing a different model)There was a black vertical line on the printed pages at first, but I followed the instructions on the Brother site for this printer & problem, cleaned it with a couple of alcohol wipes , and was up and running in another 10 minutes. Shouldn't have to do that, but I won't knock them for what is an otherwise very easy half-hour setup, a good looking and easy to use printer. It's also light and compact which is very welcome. I hope this was helpful information for everyone!

Would prefer the default 'replace toner' message did not stop printer from printing (had to find out how to defeat this default online at other than Brother site).

This model just feels cheaper/lighter overall and has a tendency to sleep into oblivion and needs to be rebooted. It also lacks the lights of the older model which readily indicated the printers power state and readiness. I have it placed on a shelf under another printer and can't easily read the lcd. It is not backlit and there is no other indication on the printer that it is even powered on. I can't rely on it to be ready to print when I need it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Network Printing UnstableBought for the office to print specific documents over network on special paper to save time loading paper into main printer and waste if extra paper is forgotten in printer. Doesn’t communicate over network properly. Goes to sleep and won’t wake up. I can see it on the network, but it won’t communicate with other devices. Brother tech support will just send you links and suggest uninstall/reinstall (which won’t work. I’ve got enough time put in to try and make their product work that I estimate I could have spend about about $500 on a better brand and saved money after trying to use it for two weeks.

But go to using the manual feed and the printer jams two of every five page feeds, and over half of the successful prints comes out crooked on the page. They put very little forethought into the manual feed tray on the front of the printer, which renders it just about useless to me.

It does exactly what I need it to do and loses all the features I don't need or want but always end up paying for. Our printing here is mostly text-based so I just don't need colors or the ability to print pretty graphics. Easy setup; prints nice and fast. I'm so happy with this printer, I may get one of these for home.

On the periodic times when it doesn't print, I just save the document and then go to the Brother utility and print it from there! We are glad that we switched over and got this printer.

When you need a print, it'll come from sleep to print in a minute and continue to work as if you were printing daily. Great little printer, no mechanical or software problems, I highly recommend it.

They're just ok and the ink is expensive and the printers are slow.I've heard good things about Brother laser printers, so I gave this one a shot. I was surprised by how well it prints, how fast it prints, flawless automatic 2 sided printing and toner that lasts and lasts. I'm a Brother fanboy now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from terribleI purchased directly from Brother and they have a 30 day return policy if you have not opened the box, unfortunately to see if the printer works you need to "open the box". This printer did not work well with my Chromebooks or Lenovo Laptop as it would go to sleep and not wake up.. There is no "wake-up" button on the printer so you are left to unplug it hook up computer directly to it. The software for this machine was written in the 90's likely and they have just added on to it as it is bulky and not user friendly. When it was able to print it was good quality I tried to return as deep sleep was a problem and cannot be turned off, however they do not have a phone number to contact and keep offering more complex solutions to the problem. There may be a way to have it work in a wireless environment but I do not want to spend hours configuring devices only to have an update down the road unravel everything. If you are hooking up with a USB cable (bring your own as they do not provide then this printer will be fine. If you are not running Windows 95 then look elsewhere. I purchased an HP from Costco, took about 15 min to set-up with 5 IOS devices, 2 chrome books and one Lenovo Laptop and has worked flawlessly. HP has a 30 day return policy if you should happen to "open" the product to test in your house. The support has been quick to offer complex solutions I must say. Dreadful return policy.

The substitute of a miniscule text display does not do the job. You cannot read it without an external light source and you must be right above the display to read it. Since our printer is in a cabinet, this is not possible. I must physically pull the printer out of the cabinet and use a light to be able to read it. As a consequence, we leave the printer ON all the time because we can't tell if it is ON or OFF from where we sit at the computer or laptop. Seeing any error messages is a major difficulty.

Only one button in the control panel seems to do anything at all. Fortunately that is the one that turns the machine back on, and then it goes back to its trouble shooting mode and then after it decides that it is fixed I am back in business again. I miss my Brother HL-2240

Also, I usually have to have the paper tray completely (or almost completely full, or I'll get an out-of-paper message. The LONG online "help" page (with about 20 steps: clean this, adjust that, feed pages manually, etc) is too confusing (I think) and doesn't address and/or help me solve the problem I'm having.

When I was able to convince her, she agreed to replace the unit. Unit I received was refurbished, not brand new. When I called I was told policy was to replace with refurbished not replace new. Replacement squealed. It was not until I changed cartridge to another brand that squealing stopped. Brother cartridges did not give me as many copies as I expected. No where did I find anything about replacing the cartridge and only found how to change toner by trial and error. Very disappointed.

The indestructible laser printing engine they also put on MFC machines. Eventually it needed a new fuser, and that would cost MUCH more than the HL-L2370DW, which took up half the room of the oldster. The HL-L2370DW prints well and reliably, and it's great to have WiFi. Only problems: Replacement toner cartridges are expensive (but that's probably why the unit was inexpensive. Documentation is unclear since it applies to many machines. I kept wondering how the DL-L2370DW was supposed to scan or copy, like described in the documentation. It isn't, that's another model.

The speed of printing and the ease of printing double-sided pages is wonderful and the added bonus of the excellent connectivity to print from my iPad and iPhone make this printer an excellent addition to any home office.

For those who intend to buy the printer for use on a wifi home network, I advise assigning a fixed IP address rather than using a DHCP address. Using DHCP the printer often lost its network connection.

I`m a photographer based in Los Angeles, and share a home office with my girlfriend - a writer. For us, a printer is an essential part of the workspace, and one that is as simple and effective as can be is truly invaluable. We both print reference items for work and can work from one of 4-5 different computers at any moment. First Impressions: Unboxing and setting up the HL-L2370DW was straightforward enough. There was a short and simple quickstart guide and a manual. I went straight for the quickstart and had everything up and going in about 10-15 minutes. Setting up the printer`s Wi-Fi features took the longest time, but that`s primarily because the printer doesn`t have a built-in keyboard. Using the menu buttons to type wasn`t the fastest operation but it worked. Printer is nice and compact, and looks smart in most places in the office because of its symmetry. A great thing to note is that paper gets delivered at the top of the machine, so obstructing the sides isn`t an issue (until you reload the paper compartment, which comes in a tray on the front. That is to say, the delivered papers do not extend beyond the printer`s footprint. Print Quality: Great. No complaints here. Text is crisp and sharp regardless of the type of paper used. Graphics are graphics printed on a grayscale printer. Exactly what one would expect. Usable for reference; not great for anything else. Double sided printing capability is a plus, with minimal bleeding through on 20lb paper. Wi-Fi: In a connected office with two users, wi-fi has become an absolutely essential feature. Our previous printer didn`t have wi-fi, and it was a gigantic hassle having to connect our computers whenever anything needed to be printed. The Brother`s wi-fi features changed that for us, and has made printing incredibly easy. Once we connected it to our hotspot via the quickstart guide, it became easy to find the printer on our computers, and print almost immediately. On both our PC and Mac computers, setup was a breeze. Now, the only cable we use with the printer is the power cable. It`s great. Print Speed: As far as speed goes, this printer blows away our old business inkjet printer. Color vs. Grayscale aside, printing office documents, contacts, and other reference items has never been easier. On average, we print 10-20 pages at a time. After timing a few 15-page double sided printing jobs, we`ve noted that it takes only 1:03 seconds from the first noise the printer makes to the sending out of the final page. Sending the jobs from the computer to the printer via Wi-Fi took an additional 10 seconds on average.Issues: There was this strange inconsistent bleeding of ink on both vertical edges of the paper for the first 20 pages printed or so. I will note that the instructions ask you to clean the toner cartridge before installing with a built in lever. I may not have done that enough, but the issue went away soon enough. If you print at a decent volume for a home office or small business, this might be the ticket. Comparable models from various competitors appeared to be selling in the same price ranges. Conclusion: This is a simple printer with great Wi-Fi features and dual-sided printing. If your use of the printer involves two or more users, the shared accessibility features of the printer makes it worth the price of admission in time saved. This is a great printer for collaboration and for making printing the least of your worries. I definitely recommend this printer if your needs sound like they match mine!

We wanted something that would be ready to go and not have problems with old ink. Color was not needed most of the time (which is why we have retained the other printer), so the non-color situation was not an issue. Also the ink-jet unit can scan and copy for us and I also have a flat-bed scanner (other brand, sorry) for serious copying, anyway. The laser printer does the bulk of the important work now, and its performance is stellar

This small laser jet fills the bill. It handles 8-1/2 x 11 with no problems. It would have gotten 5 stars if it didn't crease every envelope we have printed. One of its best features is the wireless access. We have it connected to our modem/router so it is available to either of our two Windows 10 computers all the time.

The problem is programming the wireless access code to access the secure network. My access code has 8 characters. So to get the access code into the printer I have to press the up or down button on the printer over 38 times just to find the one correct character, so if the access code is 8 character long you need to press the up or down button over 8 char x 38 possible times. A better solution is to connect the printer with a USB cable to a computer and just send the wireless access code to the printer.

Not the best print quality I've ever experienced, but completely adequate. Plus, prints from both my computer and my phone. Some have complained about it taking a long time to wake up from a deep sleep, but plan ahead for that and it won't be a problem. Pretty trouble-free so far, so it's working for me.

Love the AirPrint feature, so we can print from iPad and smartphones without first connecting to computer for shared printing. It was very easy to set up. It is replacing a 2270DW which didn’t have AirPrint. I like the fact it has an LCD window for information rather than blinking lights. The previous printer needed a new drum which costs about the same as a new printer. I tried a couple of third party drum replacements which produced inferior printing. So purchasing a new printer was a no brainer. Highly recommend.

Constant jamming with regular paper usage, and labels were never pulled into the printer in a straight line, always printed crooked. After a label jammed the printer, dropped printer off at authorized Brother repair center that label jamming issues were not covered by warranty. Will not purchase another Brother product.

I chose it based on good published reviews and recommendations of two friends who also use it at their homes. Besides the ordinary single-side printing, I found the double-sided printing very convenient. Single-sheet feed from the front is convenient. I used envelope printing successfully from the rear slot, although the set-up for that mode has a few extra steps. The printer's WiFi connection is reliable. It starts printing right away from any computer on my home LAN.

When trying to print on the backside the original printed side was degraded badly. I installed a new toner cartridge but with the exact same results, so I now out the cost of a toner cartridge. When trying to get service support from Best Buy I got a runaround even with the extra Geek Squad warranty I purchased at the same time. Trying to log onto the Brother site in my registered account was met with errors and no connection. This has been a disaster right out of the box. I highly regret my purchase of the Brother printer and my purchasing it from Best Buy. Do not buy.

The only thing we are not too happy about is toner usage and false replace toner message. Also the control panel set up is not very easy.

It not only is a great printer, with the "high yield" toner cartridge, it offers about the lowest cost per page of any I looked at. My only gripe is that the printer comes with a toner cartridge that only allows printing 700 pages. I know the profit is in the replacement toner sales, but 700 pages ....?!?

It doesn't jam when I put 50 sheets in the paper tray (a problem I had with my previous printer. The only downside, a small one, was that the 2370 defaulted to duplex (both side) printing, which I never want. I went through the Win10 Control Panel to set print to single side, problem solved. I can recommend this printer.

Not thrilled about the teeny tiny toner cartridge that it comes with...that's kind of bogus that I have to purchase a new cartridge right out of the gate. Makes the price of the printer higher than it looks when you consider that. I like the 2 sided printing capability, but haven't figured out if I can change it from defaulting to 2 sided to defaulting to single sided printing. Love the wifi connectivity. I noticed that when I had written something in pencil on a printed out form and had to erase it, part of the printed image came off. Not happy about that at all...seems like the toner is not being "dried" fully or something. Disappointing, as I have an older Brother which this one replaced. Quality is not as good anymore ??May not buy another Brother product again in the future...

I wish I had done more research before buying this printer as many others report the same issue. I will most likely have to directly connect it to my computer and use printer sharing through my desktop to allow my kids to connect to it. I could have gotten a wired printer for much less than I paid for this. Do NOT buy this printer or any similar Brother model that claims to work over Wifi...It wont!

I had to spend more time rebooting and reloading the software just to print a one page document to get the printer to connect and then print. With my Brother Laser printer no such problems. Compared to other printers I have owned and used this one is definitely a winner. The paper instructions were very simple and easy to understand and follow to set up thr printer and install thr laser cartridge. The software install for this printer pretty much walks you through it`s own installation and any steps you need to take. I spent no mpre than 10 minutes taking the printer out of the box and setting it up. I was able to print both written documents and even images with speed and efficiency. The ratio scaling of documents didn`t diminish the print quality neither. The speed of printing is fast. Laser printing has less amount of changes in cartridges per use of so many pages as well. I am impressed.

The Wi-Fi and the two-sided features appear to be working well. The tray capacity is large for a home unit (250 sheets. I expect the cartridge to last for many months. The initial set-up without temporarily installing a USB cable is a little daunting for a regular citizen (like me), so I recommend that cabled approach - you can disconnect it when installation is complete, using only WiFi. This unit replaces my decades-old HP Laser-jet which has only failed in the structure of the case (now held together with masking tape). I don't think anyone (including HP) makes them like they used to (lots of metal, durable parts); we consumer require manufacturers to continually take out costs, so if the builds get cheaper/more fragile, that is our fault, not theirs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from on-printer menu not workingI tried to change the boot method for network using the on printer menu, but even though the menu shows I successfully changed it (from Auto to DHCP or BOOTP, when I print the network settings I don't see any IP address, and I still see the setting as Auto on the print-out.Additionally, brand new out of the box, when it prints the settings pages there is a vertical band at the right edge of the page.Overall, setup leaves a lot to be desired and the vertical band means I will have to return the printer.

I am a graphic style and photography guy, so I sometimes purchased color H.P., Canon, and Epson printers. the value of quality color laser printers for home use was preventative, and color matching was perpetually troublesome. I do print out a good bit of text documents lately, particularly with young kids needing them for college projects. The L2370DW is ideal for that. Text is sharp and clear, and it spits sheets out terribly quickly. Monochrome quality is decent as well, although nowhere close to photographic quality as a result of limited tonal vary and a few terribly slight stripe across the pictures. perhaps that`s one thing which will be addressed within the set-up menu.Speaking of set-up, the on-board controls for the printer ar terribly basic. I recently picked up a wireless H.P. Envy pic printer that value less however had a awfully intuitive and simple to use bit screen interface. I hope that additional printers go this routeI`ve owned 2 Brother printers previously and therefore the HL-L2350DW is my third. It arrived well prepacked and was fairly fast to physically set-up. Just unbox, take away the protecting tape pieces, insert the drum unit and toner cartridge, some letter size paper (up to a 250 sheet ream) and plug it in. The unit powers up ANd runs through an inital set-up. No cables are enclosed, thus I connected wirelessly via my Mac laptop computer. This method took somewhat longer since I visited the Brother web site to transfer and install the driver package. A CD is enclosed if you have got AN optical drive. it had been an easy method but, and that i was printing my first sheets in about 10 minutes.Aside from the restricted interface and mobile property problems, i am fairly pleased with the L2370DW. it`s a good office printer with quick, sharp output, duplex (2-sided) printing, and wireless capability. Rated 5 out of 5 by from I wish I would return it.Printer jams constantly. I work in a law firm use it to print envelopes. Can't feed the envelopes from the paper tray and must hand feed them. The print is off kilter once the printer crinkles the envelope.

First, they have it on a meter so that you are forced to purchase toner before it is actually empty - and it's expensive. The other thing is that their printer drivers don't allow you to print a booklet in MSWord, even though they do in MSPublisher

The first one jammed so badly that a part broke when I was trying to remove the paper jam and it will not longer work. The feature are quite nice, wifi works pretty consistently, and the ink-safe mode is very useful.

It provides vigorous functionality and quality. This compact printer can print at lightning-quick speeds which ensures efficiency in the workplace. Wireless connection is easy to use and allows you to print from multiple wireless sources. Other hook-ups are also possible if you choose to not use its wi-fi connection. The Ethernet cord hook-up is also easy to use. Overall I enjoy this product and especially like that it is compact in size! I would definitely recommend this product to someone I know.

I love that the manual feed slot offers me options for a variety of papers and sizes, such as card stock and envelopes so I can create professional looking documents for work. The 250-sheet paper capacity helps me improve efficiency with less refills. My last printer held half that amount. I also really like that there are a few different connection options with built-in wireless and Ethernet network.

I am really pleased with it. The print is crisp. It's much faster than my former printer. I like the ability for duplex printing. It's currently hardwired to my desktop but I'll try to use its wireless capability for use with my laptop. Extremely happy with my purchase.

The directions for start-up were not very helpful. Like so many new models of computers and related equipment the user interface and instructions are shrouded in gobbledigook and missing straight-forward intructional steps. On top of that I dread receiving "software updates" for things like printers, etc., for they will change the program(s to seemingly benefit the manufacturer and increase the user's frustration level. My new brother printer is printing now, but I dread when it will not print and no typical solution works (add paper, toner and check connections, etc.). So much for today's technologies.

Brother sent a replacement for the 1st and The Brand New Brother Printer is having the same exact problems as the 1st. Both Only a month old. 1. It starts to print, stops and then has an alert to “clear the paper jam” however there is nothing actually jammed or stuck. So we are forced to pull the unjammed paper out anyway and open the front of the printer just to get it to reset and then we can try to print again.2. Wrinkling/creasing the envelopes when printing addresses.We are Beyond Frustrated.

Now as I start them up to test the connectivity they won't print - error msg instead. This is even though I can ping them and logon to the printer via the IP address. I bewildered why they don't work! My recommendation is to avoid these Brother printers.

This printer I bouhht to use in printing church bullitens and prayer sheets. So far this printer has done a great job printing. I have used the printer for about two months. It is a wireless printer but I use a UBS connection to my computer.

I have followed directions for printing label (opening the back, depressing green switches and the labels always smear and ink wears off. Using Avery file folder labels. Anything that is thicker than a piece of paper does not print well. So disappointed.

My old printer was Ethernet connected, so I attached the new printer using the same connection. I put my computer in sleep mode, but found to my dismay, that the computer would turn itself on. After trying several settings to no avail, I finally gave up and set the printer up on WIFI, which fixed the problem. Other than that, the printer seems to work well and I have not had a problem once it was setup as a WIFI device.

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I use a printer on a daily basis for work related purposes and need to have a compact, reliable printer. This one is it! The size fits perfectly underneath the laptop desk/table. This particular printer is not bulky, cumbersome or a heavy printer.I have to admit, I am not very good at following directions and I tend to just start setting things up or putting things together without reading the instructions. Or, get easily frustrated when faced with overly worded,confusing pages of instructions. I was given a large poster-like "Quick Set-Up Guide" The instructions were very clear, basic, easy to understand/follow and with illustrations. While the set-up is really common sense, for others who are not savvy at all with any electonics,I wish the written directions were a little bit more explanatory. For example, in step 1 "remove the orange part" perhaps, remove the orange, plastic piece attatched to the drum unit" would be more explanatory. While I had no issues perhaps a clearer image/illustration as to which direction the drum unit would go in. Again, I had no issues during set-up and I personally found it to be very easy.I also like the troubleshooting if you are unable to connect. I found that to be helpful. Aside from the quick set up guide/poster,there is also a video you can watch to help you set-up the printer. Set up was not intimidating for a newbie like myself! I really like this product as well as the features it comes with. I like how I can connect to either the laptop or via a mobile device. You can download and install the free Brother Print & Scan app from a mobile store. I would definitely reccommend this specific printer. The brand is reputable,I found it to be compact, sleek,easy to set up and use. I have a very positive overall opinion of this product and exceeded my expectations.

Unfortunately, the printer does not wake from sleep using our Chromebooks, and goes back to sleep very quickly (a matter of seconds, not minutes. I have not found a way to change the timing. Printing from a Windows device has no problem in waking the device. Other than that, I find the printer very quick with good results in text.

By the way brothers entry level machine is incredible. This one I bought more for fun projects with my granddaughter. She is 6 and has learned to print from my phone. Good thing cause I never did. Overall if you need great printer at an incredible price, you would be wasting money to purchase anything else...

Some aspects of setting it up hadn't initially been real simple so as to allow all 3 operating systems to work perfectly. As time has progressed, support has improved considerably, and I would recommend this printer for SOHO and small businesses, even for wireless access. Duplexing is a great feature.

I previously had an ink-jet and that printer continued to clog and would not print. The laser printer does not clog.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good!This printer was a replacement for my ancient HL2070N that was circa 2007, my wife had used it for school and other things, such as "trying to print off the entire Internet", I hope that this HL-L2370DW can follow in it's footsteps, I am impressed with it's speed, will see how long it works on a toner cartridge as I had good luck with mileage on the old unit.I use my printer as Ethernet connection to router as same as before and it allows any network device, phone, tablet, PC etc. to print.

I cabled the printer to my desktop computer and then tried to connect it to my wifi network for use with other devices -- but it won't connect to wifi. I followed the instructions to connect to wifi, which are a bit obtuse. The instructions don't say, but my guess the printer cannot be cabled and connected to wifi at the same time, infortunately. If I am wrong, please advise.

My reason for purchasing the 2370 (just a printer) was primarily due to the more compact size. Size is great; however, it's "louder" than the 2380. fyi. Thank you.

Could not be an inkjet (we have one and the print head dries out and is unusable after a while. A sales associate recommended this and it worked perfectly, Clear printing and Much Faster that the inkjet. Easy to set up and use. The two sided printing is a bonus!

The Brother is super in all aspects; connectivity, toner life, ease of setup, and ongoing reliability. The same holds true for the extended life ink jet models also. Will continue to prefer Brother!!

The envelope skews so the printing is crooked and more importantly the envelope gets creased in the front lower left corner and across the back. Brother's answer is to open the rear cover and change positions of green tabs which allows envelope to print straight through. This is only a temporary fix since no one is going to want to open the rear panel and do this each time. This is my second Brother Laser printer and the first (HL-L2340DW also skewed the printing but at least did no crease the envelopes. All that being said, I do like everything else about this printer but because of this problem I cannot recommend it.

It was incredibly easy to put together and only took about 15 minutes from unboxing to printing. It spits a page out quickly, prints double sided, and doesn`t jam. It only prints in black and white, but that`s fine for my needs. The ink cartridge is very large, which makes me wonder about its replacement cost. The printer is not very quiet either, so if you`re looking for something quiet for your desktop you might want to place this farther away.

I wanted a compact laser printer for the higher resolution and because the print does not smear if it gets wet. I also needed a printer that could handle small sheets of paper since I use it to print personal checks from my checkbook. The HL-L2370DW meets all these requirements. Setup was quick and easy and print quality is excellent, even on fine print viewed under magnification. The printer does not get heavy use here, but we have had no issues during the 3 months we have owned it.

This printer would not communicate directly with the Chromebook without an "WiFi printer app for Chromebooks" that I learned about on good old Youtube.com. Brother should included this information in the package for this printer. Especially since so many are covering to Chromebook.

Now, she can print to her hearts content without that worry. One laser cartridge only costs a little more than replacing two or three ink cartridges, but lasts many times longer. Great product.

What I have had a hard time with is the connection directions. Our modem has had to be replaced twice and the directions leave me in a downward spiral. It has taken me hours to get things up and running again. Ugh! Otherwise, it would have been a five.

The person incharge of purchasing ordered another cheaper brand, but because of the volume of printing it only lasted a week, I told the director it was not going to work. Sent the other one back and went and got a Brothers.

I then went to the HL-1440, but since I moved to a new house I needed something with built-in Wi-Fi. Limited space also meant I needed something with a small footprint. The HL-L2370DW fit the bill perfectly. It's small, only 14"x14", and not too heavy. It has all the needed interfaces, USB, Network and Wi-Fi and it's super easy to set up for your home. If you're just printing documents, receipts and none-color items, it's the perfect home printer.

The only reason I gave 4 starts is because there are times when the printer has been on deep sleep that nothing will awaken it other than unplugging and plugging back in. It would also be nice if there was a way to print more than one envelope at a time.

I love the tiny footprint and the duplex printing works well. Manual feeding of shipping labels often get crunched a little, but still usable. I'll looking for thinner labels when I run out of the current batch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer, difficult installationMy previous Brother B&W laser printer performed well and lasted for years; when it finally gave up the ghost, I naturally turned to a successor, the HL-L2370DW. The good news is that it is also a great performer, especially for the money. The bad news that the installation on my Dell OptiPlex PC, running up-to-date Windows 10, was so difficult that it took my tech guru an hour to get it up and running--and that was only after he gave up on a connection by Wi-Fi and resorted to an Ethernet cable instead. Brother should make all this a lot easier with an intelligent wizard that permits a rapid and systematic installation by Wi-Fi.

Currently I work at home and I am also a student.So on a typical day, I am always printing documents and paying constantly for ink cartridges. Upon pulling the printer from the box, it appeared to be packaged well. I loved how the printer can store up to 250 sheets of paper. By working at home, I need to print many documents in a timely manner. Before trying the Brother printer, I was using a HP printer. However, it only printed about 5 pages per minute. As a nice touch, I loved how the Brother printed my 20 sheets in under one minute!It appears that the printer is best for persons who may have small businesses or who print often. This printer also had a nice feature of having to use WI-fi to print documents from my tablet onto the printer. ASSEMBLY: Overall, it was very easy to assemble. However, there did not appear to be instructions within my package that showed what each compartment on the printer is for. For those who may have never purchased a printer before, this may be a nuisance. But for those who are familiar with printer assembly, especially with those containing an ink toner, it should be a piece of cake to set up.STABILITY:The printer is very stable and durable. The printer is moderate in size. It does take quite a bit of space. So when contemplating purchase, make sure you have enough desk space. I have a narrow desk. So I had to put my printer on the floor for use. I had no worries about it toppling over or falling apart due to its stability and durability. PROBLEMS:My only major complaint with this model of the Brother printer is lack of detailed instructions for consumers. Most of the assembly, I was aware of the function. But with two areas on the unit, including WI-fi st-up, I had to play around with it in order to understand its function. PRICE:I found the price to be a little expensive to the average person. Overall, due to its durability and many functions, I think it is worth the price for those needing a printer that will print many sheets and scanning documents without use of an Ethernet cord.

Item: Brother HL-L2370DWI received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion.Speed: I really need a printer that can print on demand and not have to "warm up" every time I need to use it. This one gets the job done fast. What`s best about the speed is that it is wifi enabled and takes print commands from both my laptop and phone faster than my printer that costs 10 times this unit.Space: This printer is compact compared to my full size printer, but the quality of print is still really good. While it doesn`t hold as much paper, it does hold a pretty good amount The footprint is smaller, but could be smaller. I needed something smaller for our kid`d desk and this worked perfectly. Setup: Setup was a breeze. Because the screen isn`t a typical touchscreen, you do need to pay attention to the directions, but setup and getting it on my wifi was easy. I think the most difficult part of assembly was unboxing and taking off the packing tape - bottom line - it was as easy as it could be.Always on: Many printers go to sleep and take forever to warm back up, this on, while saving energy, is also always ready for prints. I don`t think iv`e ever had to wait to get my prints.Price: The price is a little steep compared to a similar printer I had in the past, but if you can find it on sale, it is worth it. If it was under $100, it would be a much easier purchase to make. What makes this better than what i`ve had in the past is the duplex feature and it being wireless. That actually makes the extra money for this unit quite a value.

I was amazed by how quickly this compact printer can print out double-sided pages. As a student, I`m always printing stacks of class readings and having this printer in my home has been a lifesaver. However, I did struggle with setting the printer up with my wireless network. I have a newer model MacBook Pro and eventually had to research the steps online to manually enter the wireless network key and password into the printer. Once I figured that out, everything was golden!

Work these small ones I get a couple of years and a couple of extended toner cartridges before they need a new drum. At that point it is almost just as cheap to buy a new small printer. (There is only about $20 difference, and you get a new (partial toner be with the new one.

I print photos at printing locations for perfect quality so I knew I didn't need a color printer, and this thing is cheap to run. sure, it's 80 dollars for a refill cartridge but when you get thousands of pages out of each cartridge, it is a no brainer. i don't use it all the time, but it always works when I need it too and is capable of printing fast.

I was unable to link up the printer with my computer. I called the two who recommended it. They said they spent a great deal of time trying to link it as well. Ultimately, I called Geek Squad to set it up. The tech took about 45 minutes to set it up. In this day, setting up a printer should be easy. This is not. I would not recommend it for that reason.

Did have some problems connecting to Wi-Fi as screen is small and no keyboard just arrows to get to letter or number. Has been great with ink and prints well. I print about 50-100 pages a month and it works fine with me good quality also.

Also can't seem to make it default to NOT 2 sided printing. It's a pain to always have to manually change it. Perhaps there's a way. Last time I called brother customer service I was on the phone for hours.....with an inkjet printer trying to get it to connect wirelessly, now that I think about it. HP printers are always easy! Your instructions are AWFUL.

Sometimes I'll try to print something and the printer will be in "Deep Sleep". On my computer it shows as "offline" and I have tried to find a button to change that status to "online" but there doesn't seem to be one. I try toggling the power and it is still offline. The only thing that will convince it to do its job is to reset the wireless connection, which is very annoying and inconvenient since I have to enter the network password one letter at a time via the printer's very limited interface. What you need to add is a simple, one-button method to change the status of the printer from "offline" to "online". Thank you.

The only drawback is that it goes into deep sleep mode and I can't figure out how to get it to wake up when I send print jobs but installation was super easy. The default print settings for mine had it printing on both sides of the page, but that was also easy to figure out and fix.

This printer can take 30-60 minutes to print 10 pages. It sounds like the printer completely shuts off in between pages. the final product is mediocre at best! save your money and buy a good printer! this is not it!

It also includes an effective wireless interface so that the need for the number of wires can be minimized. For those of us who prefer ethernet it also has a wired interface. Not to be left out it also has a USB port. It also has multiple ways to feed paper and envelopes. It has many features for the price.

My only reservation is on printing standard No. 10 business envelopes; this printer tends to create a crease on the trailing edge of the envelope. In order to minimize the size of the crease, I need to feed envelopes that are at least 20# stock.

I expected to have problems as there usually is with printer installation. I worked slowly and carefully followed all instructions. I did it all online with downloads. Seriously, it was smooth and without incident. I love the wireless! The printer is in a closet and I work on a laptop in another room. I also bought a Brother DS740 Scanner as a complement and it also was so easy to install. While I preferred an all in one, I feel getting each one separately is giving me better performance and less problems.

Biggest reason this didn't get a full 5 stars is it prints out with a ink line down the full left side of the paper. Sometimes I can get it to flake off but other times it's baked into the page and makes the finished print look a bit dirty. Other than that, I would recommend.

However the app does not allow you to print I side only in Word. The work around is to convert the document to a .pdf and then print it through the app. It is ridiculous that you cannot simple have a default i side print setting that is universal for the printer. In addition it has a tendency not to print sheet fed envelopes straight. I

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!This is my first Brother product and my first laser printer. So far I'd say it's the best printer I've ever owned, including HP and Canon. Easy setup, easy access, simple to use. Fires up and is ready to go in only a few seconds. Prints fast and results are clear and sharp. Seems much simpler and more reliable than inkjet printers, and I'm sure will be less expensive to operate. In a perfect world I'd like to have color, but it's worth it to me to have a monochrome printer if it's dependable and doesn't burn through pricey and messy cartridges.

It's so quite, sometimes I have to get up to make sure it is printing. I haven't had a problem. Only regret is I didn't get the color printer of this version but when I am ready to upgrade I definitely will. It's perfect for school work, personal usage, letters, forms, etc. Although I have not had to print anything on legal paper...but there is a tray for that as well. Easy to open to replace ink cartridge, easy to replace paper. You can't go wrong with this little printer.

For most printing at home black only is fine and if we want printed color photos it's quick, easy and cheap to buy from an online service. So, this has been wonderful, the toner lasts a long time and the print quality is excellent. I gave this review 4 stars instead of 5 because it stopped working about a year later because of some connection malfunction. I had purchased an extended warranty that enabled me to replace the unit for a refurbished one. It was the long complicated process that disappointed me.

The first lasted for so many years that the rubber pickup rollers dried and became less reliable at picking up the paper from the cassette. The only reason I had to get a new one is because I moved and left my other one to my ex as he used it more at the time. I love with Brother inkjet printers you can replace just the colors you need to replace. Definitely saves you money in that sense. I now have a laser printer and love it even more. I only use black ink so I didn't bother buying one that prints in color. The toner isn't expensive and lasts FOREVER. I just got through the cartridge that came with the printer which is not even full size and it lasted for months. This printer also prints super fast, even when printing on both sides of the paper. I print wirelessly so I don't even have to have cords hooked up to my computer.

But this NEW Brother is wireless and prints from our iPhones, Laptops and my iPad, we just LOVE it, we leave it on all the time and only comes on when you want to print. I use it for light to medium home-use workloads and it's so reliable that I can print five or six documents remotely and not feel the need to go to the printer on each pass to check the job - each document prints perfectly and it NEVER jams. Next to its reliability the greatest feature for me is the two-sided printing. The thickness of the document is reduced by half making the binding (if desired much easier and the document much easier to handle and read.Getting the WIFI to match up initially can be tiresome. USE A SHORT WIFI NAME because you need to cycle through the ASCII code one character at a time using a pushbutton and a tiny LED strip. But if you follow the setup directions there should be no problem. Once the WIFI is loaded it links in seconds and is bulletproof.

Several times it has made all kinds of racket and then either produced a copy or not. Sometimes it will print only the left half of the page when printing from email and internet, even when highlighted. And when attempting to print from my university's web or Canvas site, it simply won't print or only prints two pages. The copies, when they come, are excellent.

Hours of research resulted in finding a YouTube Video where the secret button press sequence exposed a menu allowing a powerdown feature to be disabled. This failing feature was not hard to test for and reflects poorly on Bother's engineering quality control. The primary function which is "Print when commanded to print" fails after a few hours of being turned on.

The toners are affordable compared to HP....it was constant ink changes) I print up to 200 pages daily, ive had it for 3 years..replaced the drum once. Great black and white output only. Maybe that’s my Internet, maybe I need to configure the settings differently, but just saying....it’s not super simple. I have some tech experience so can manage it, but it can be frustrating. And if I think someone less tech savvy would be very annoyed with this. The support structure and materials are not clear and use a lot of jargon.

I had issues after a year or so when I was unable to print documents, Called my Geek Squad guys for what I thought was going to be a simple fix such as a setting, I kept getting an error message that I needed to replace the toner, I knew the toner had printed less than100 pages, so there was plenty of toner left. After an hour with the Geek Squad, they determined there was a connectivity issue with the toner cartridge and the printer. They suggested I try another toner cartridge. Instead of spending money buying another cartridge I opted to buy another printer. I got a Brother all-in-one printer which I am very pleased so far.

It connects with my remotes easily and seems not to forget them as a previous printer was prone to do. The print on both sides of the paper works well. The original toner cartridge did not last long. This Brother laser printer was economical and just what we needed. Only wish I had researched further and not rushed to purchase. Should have gotten printer that can scan/copy, not just print.

I finally said enough and purchased the Brother HL-L2370DW. Mostly what I print is emails, bills, bank statements, etc. so it really does not matter if it's only printed black. I just enjoy the fact I can press print and a few seconds later I have a good legible document. Also based on how much toner I've used since my purchase I think it is going to be much more economical over my old ink jet.

Further, since my machine runs a Linux system (Ubuntu 20.04, a Debian system, the facility for installing an appropriate driver is appreciated. This was a bit tedious, but that is the rule with Linux.

Also it did not recognize that a new toner was installed after I replaced it. I had to look up how to get into the settings to reset the toner life counter. I have not tried the wi-fi functions, but it works fine connected directly to my PC.

Your toner is too expensive. I had a problem on my first computer with toner getting on the page. Your service center said since I am not using Brothers toner I could not be helped. After this I will never buy another brothers printer!

I got so tired of the ink drying out and all the reviews stated that even if this printer was not used for days/weeks it would print every time. I needed to print an invoice after 2 weeks of non-use and had no problems getting the page printed. After I told my sister in law about the Brother Laser printer, she purchased one also.

I liked that they moved the power button to the top of the machine instead of the right side. My only problem is that I am having trouble getting it to print front-and-back, "Duplex" or "book" printing style. I will keep working on this when I return to that desk in my other home. It is fast and quiet, and I hope it will run as long as the similar model I had before it! NOTE: I wish you had better SUPPORT when we need it!

But after it sits idle a few days, it often returns an error on the next print. That can be fixed easily with a reboot, but it’s annoying.

Once it was in sleep mode, I couldn't print, I'd go over and press a button it'd wake up but still wouldn't print.I'd have to go through the whole wireless setup again and it would work, until it went into sleep mode. I couldn't find a way to turn sleep mode off so I configured it as a wired network printer, once I did that, I have no issues whatsoever. Overall I am happy with this purchase

I have to shut it down and restart it due to dynamic IP configurations that change each time I take the laptop out of my home environment. Would love to set a static IP so this does not happen, but have not found the process to make this happen.

True, it only prints black and white, but that's all I need. I don't print pictures, but I really appreciate the printer's speed. So speed, sharpness, & cost of toner refills is important to me. Although it does not have a flat bed scanner, I've found I can simply snap a picture of any document/page I need, then send it to the laser printer. Voila, instant copy!

It doesn’t work w my wireless setup, so every time I want to print, I have to fuss with it to get it to find the existing USB connection. If you have a Mac, don’t bother buying this.

For the HL-L2370DW its build very well. love the box look. Also using it with a USB cable or wireless works just great. I like the sleeping model. Since it well wakes up print and go back to sleep. You can save power if you don't want to turn it all the way off.

It sat next to my desk plugged into a surge protector since I bought it. Called Brother for help, but since it was out of warranty by ~6 months there was nothing they could do. Their recommendation was to send it in to an authorized repair depot and pay for it to be fixed. For the price of a new unit, might as well just trash it. Very disappoint and would not recommend.

I flipped-flopped whether to buy one since my old printer was still working but after 20+ years of inserting one sheet at a time to avoid paper jams I decided to try this Brother laser printer. I was able to install it easily to connect with my computer. Then I set it up to print from my iPhone, a feature I love because it’s easy to print. No more emailing myself documents to print. I can select the “forward” message option and scroll down to “print” directly from my iPhone. I need to keep receipts for my FSA account for records keeping purposes so this a time saver! I do think the printer is a bit on the louder side in comparison to my old laser printer. At first I missed the on/off button but have gotten used to it not having one. Besides it makes it easy to print from another room by being in standby mode. I have had this printer for a few months and I am totally happy with my choice.

There are some things that come up from time to time which I have to google and/or youtube.....which is tedious but the machine is a work horse and very cheap to run. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Breezy and great productI have always had color printers but it has been increasingly difficult to find one that doesn’t go through expensive ink cartridges quickly, is able to connect to an older laptop, and that can be set up in a reasonable time frame without hiring a computer technician. My son has used an older version of this printer for the past 5 years. After a botched attempt to connect a newly purchased color printer, I finally took his advice and purchase this product. It is extremely easy to set up and immediately functional. I am still using the ink that came with the printer. The printing is crisp and clear. My concern about ink replacement is none. In the long run, I will be spending far less than I’ve ever spent with my color printers. I haven’t hooked up the Bluetooth printing yet but if my good experience holds out, I don’t think it will be an issue. Yes, I do miss instantly printing color pictures, but honestly, I haven’t been able to print decent photos at home for years. My sons point was valid that professional printing have higher quality printers that I would never be able to afford so I’m better off taking color printing needs to a professional. So far I love my Brother printer and would highly recommend it to anyone that needs a dependable, easy to use printer.

This printer was bought as a replacement for a previous Brother HL-L monocrome printer that lasted only a couple of years before the auto feed and duplexing failed. Couldn't find what went wrong, but repair would have cost more than this one step upgrade replacement. So, I'll write a more complete review in a couple of years.

No explanation by Brothers as I was advised to get another one. This is unacceptable since it was not a service issue but obviously a complete malfunction in their machine. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Printing with the 2370I have been using the 2370 for two months and so far it seems to be doing a good job. My main complaint is that the print seems relatively light, especially compared to printing the same document on my ink jet printer. It was also a bit of a struggle finding out how to do duplex printing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bad network connectivityI bought this laser printer because I was constantly changing toner on my inkjet whenever I needed to print since I print rarely. But now this one has lost connection to my Wi-Fi and even after plugging it in with a LAN cable I cannot get it to connect. So it has been very frustrating and I have not been able to print. I tried the guides and help materials and they were not helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HL-L2379DW GREAT PRODUCTBrother Printer HL-L2379DW love the printer it’s very fast and efficient only one concern is that I bought mine brand new and six months in it quit working no power nothing no warning just wouldn’t turn on completely dead but with that said the warranty process was easy and they sent a new refurbished unit fast and really without any fussing or hoops to jump through so customer service is 5 star in my opinion and I have and will tell anyone who asks that Brother is the way to go thanks again for your help with my concerns and top notch experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome PrinterLove this printer, solved my problems with trying to print from my IPhones. Very easy setup and definitely love the two-sided printing. Have had a Brother Printer-Copier-Scanner for years and love it also. Brother will be the only printers in my home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer at a reasonable priceSo far the printer has worked flawlessly, even though I haven't used it that much. It is at a second home and is more for occasional use. It was very easy to set up by the instructions given and I have not regretted buying it. Definitely cheaper and more convenient to use than an inkjet printer.
